Frail Is the Star

Stardust filters her eyes-- diving headlong into an ache of links from yesterdays, coal the firmament. Each star a dot of reverie blinking with frail luster, a speck rusted in time washed by love’s weeping. Brian Strand's Choice 10

Wails of a Song

The coda of mourning jays vibrates In bittersweet tracks when daybreak scans An almost whipping backdrop, hushed By low warbles from birds’ paean; Indistinct as dusty sketches— Throaty on a lane of funeral’s last rites; Where the hazily drawn view turns bland Moistening wail of eyes with a muted song, Tunes stale, while jays drone on the horizon. Losing My Way

Though midnight long, I sail the winding glide
As this my instinct wakes for cherished time
For every moment gone I cannot rest
A promise sent, of love by the Westside.
Lost somewhere--- hands grip in prayer,divine
Beloved, find me upon fate’s request!

For My Child

Laughter bursting on the patio
Kites lifted through summer air;
A tenderness given by heaven
My child, this is where love abides.
Even as we play hide-and-seek,
The affection can be profound
As we watch each other grow
In deeper meaning of sweet unity.

Whether it be jar of marbles or tears
Such moments hold us dearer;
By simply recognizing this oneness
Crowned by tinkerbell stars.
Let's walk along the byways
Your polka -dot blouse tugging mine
With patches of cotton candy,
My child, this is where happiness abides.

After a Long Work--Lgt

The evening dons a peaceful shroud
As windows teeter in the breeze.
Here, only lone sighs are allowed
Along the road, an endless wheeze.

While toilers saunter homeward bound
Reflecting hours quite drearily,
With tic- tac rhythm on the ground
Like shuffles of a weary tree.

Dim lanterns cut through brightened shade
With moonlight glowing starlit white,
Till liquid eyes are inter-laid
For even in reminisce is light.

verdant the hilltops
gold as light
flushed without a moon

Hues of Rain

Rain sketches lulled dusk
in eaves of mint blue,
bathing tender flesh
from autumn’s debut--
Parasols sway and dance
through spilled avenue.
Green-gold drops ripple,
soaked in dazzling hues
inviting  bare lips
to taste honeydew;
wet kisses’ painting
love on  avenue.

Remembrances of Autumn

Shreds of oak tree in faded gold
Drift on my life-scenes, wishes untold.
