I AM ABLE

I am able never accepted the word disabled
Out casted and trampled on by the one who gave me shelter for nine months
A victim of circumstances in almost all instances because our fore fathers never embraced us as their own
Clearly, we had differences so in our hearts we wondered if God had our interest
The streets became our home, a home that murdered many innocent souls through starvation so you hypocrites never preach to me about salvation when your bellies are full
Do these politicians think we need them to pass a bill before we can have a meal?
If believers of the Bible and Quran cannot show us love then I ask, can many of us see heaven without a deal?
A revolution starts now
So tell a brother to tell another brother that it all begins here in our hearts
Today may be challenging but know that every second we can sense and see a better day evolving
Let us work hard for the sake of our children who will not forgive us because we never triumph over the challenges
Yes we can only if we are willing which is powerful than any natural healing
Our victory will be a mystery coded in our souls like history
We can emphatically say we are all on a journey more relevant than a missionary

I WISHED MY PEOPLE KNEW THIS

I WISHED MY PEOPLE KNEW THIS!
MY PEOPLE COMPLAIN LIKE THEY WERE FED WITH CONSTRAINS
SO MANY CORRUPT LEADERS DECEIVING THE YOUTH WITH THEIR WORDS LIKE PROPANE
THE YOUTH SNIFF THEM AND GET ADDICTED LIKE COCAINE
SO NURTURED WITH THEIR DOGMATIC MENTAL SLAVERY THEY WILL KEEP DESTROYING THE FUTURE THAT WE CAN’T CONTAIN
I BELIEVE THE YOUTH WILL RISE UP ONE DAY AND FIGHT EVERY CORRUPT HEART WITH MUCH PAIN
I WISHED BOB WAS ALIVE TO REWRITE HIS “REDEMPTION SONG” BECAUSE I WOULD HAVE USE IT FOR MY CAMPAIGN
ON ALL LIGHTS AND LET’S SEARCH FOR THE TRUTH BECAUSE THIS IS NOT THE TIME FOR US TO POP CHAMPAGNE
LAST NIGHT I HAD A DREAM WHERE NKRUMAH TOLD ME THAT WHEN HE TOOK A LOOK AT AFRICA NOW, HE GOT SAD BUT WITH MY WORDS HE WILL SUSTAIN
EVEN AFTER MISUSING OUR TAXES, THEY FORGET TO FEED THE CHILDREN IN SOMALIA BUT I WILL CUT DOWN MY LAST PLANT AND FEED THEM WITH PLANTAIN
WHEN WE MAKE EVERY VISION AT NIGHT AND DRAMATIZE EVERY REALITY IN THE MORNING
WE MAKE FOOLS OUT OF FOOLS WHO WILL BRING NO FOOD FOR THE FOLD
THEY CAN SPIT ON MY GRAVE BUT THE TRUTH WILL BURN THEM DOWN EVEN IN THE COLD

NO TRUTH FOR AFRICA

How long shall we try to convince her to see the truth?
How long would she pretend, when the truth sits in-between her breast cursed?
Deception and lies she fed her children but she hypocritically crave for peace in the midst of injustice
She is an adulterous who slept with corruption, tribalism, nepotism and soiled her white garment on the day of marriage to truth
At the dawn of her great tribulation, she clandestinely assembled all her bravest children i.e. Nkrumah, Haile Selassie, Lumumba, Kenyatta and lied to them about how corruption, tribalism and nepotism of the white man raped her of her virginity
They started an uprising with burning flame of emancipation in their hearts because they were willing to shed their blood for the pride of their deceptive mother i.e. Africa
I felt thunderous roars from Cairo to Soweto that broke the cord between mastery and slavery
The awaken of a lost history
Restoration of a broken dynasty
The nations ruled on the moral fiber of love and unity
Their own hailed them but their own also murdered their dreams because they stood for something that was more powerful than blood diamonds, oils, and dictatorship i.e. the truth and serving humanity
Wipe away your tears for there is no reason to love and fight for Africa; when tyrants like Mugabe, Al-Bashir, Museveni, Biya, Eduardo Dos Santos, Obiang Nguema are stealing and oppressing their own
Oh! No truth for her
No truth for Africa

AFRICA

AFRICA
AFRICA IS MY NAME
MY NAME THEY MENTION WHEN THEY TRAVEL FROM THE NORTH TO THE SOUTH, FROM THE EAST TO THE WEST
WHAT DO YOU SEEK?
VEGETATION, MINERALS, WATER, INTELLECTUAL MEN AND WOMEN
I AM THE FOUNDATION OF CIVILIZATION AND TRANSFORMATION
HMM!
THEY PLANTED CORRUPTION, HATRED, WARS AND IMMORAL ACTS IN MY ABODE
MY HEART BLEEDS
 MY SOUL WEEPS
MY CHILDREN PERISH
MY IMAGE TARNISH
MENTAL SLAVERY IN THIS TWENTY FIRST CENTURY IS THE ORDER OF THE DAY
INFERIORITY COMPLEX; MY CHILDREN CHANGE THEIR COLOUR FOOLISHLY THINKING THEY WILL BE THE FINEST
GIVE ME WATER FROM THE GREAT NILE TO QUENCH MY THIRST
MY THIRST I MEAN I NEED TO DRINK TO BECOME THE FIRST
MY FIST I THROW IN THE AIR TO TAKE MY SEAT
CALL THE ENTIRE CONTINENT TO COME AND SHARE IN MY FEAST

IMPERFECTION

TODAY I TOOK A LOOK INTO MY BROKEN MIRROR
IT REFLECTED BACK THE IMPERFECT ME
THE OTHER SIDE OF THE PERFECT THAT THE IMPERFECTS DON’T WANT TO KNOW
CAN I AMEND THE BROKEN PIECES OF MY MIRROR?
I FORGOT TO PUT ON MY LIPSTICK ON MY WEEDING DAY, GOSH MY HUSBAND SAW THE IMPERFECT ME
THE CAPTAIN JUST TOLD THE CREW HE FORGOT TO BRING ALONG HIS COMPASS
THE IDEALIST STRIVE FOR PERFECTION FROM THE FATHER ABOVE BUT THE TRUE SON OF THE FATHER ONCE SAID “HE WHO WAS PERFECT WAS TO CAST THE FIRST STONE”
BECAUSE OF OUR STAINED SOULS, A UNIVERSAL DETERGENT WAS POURED ON EACH SOUL TO BRING PERFECTION DEFERRING THE LAWS OF AFFECTION
THE HEART OF MAN IS FULL OF CORRUPTION CONSTANTLY BLEEDING OUT CONTEMPT WITHOUT CLOTTING
BUT WE NEED TO FIGHT EAGERLY AGAINST EVERY UNCERTAINTIES WITHOUT HESITATING
NO MATTER HOW HARD WE FIGHT THESE UNCERTAINTIES EVERYONE WILL DIE TRYING
MY PERFECTION IS LIMITED BEFORE MY IMPERFECTION AND THAT MAKES ME PERFECTLY IMPERFECT SOUL

REFLECTION

GIVE ME BACK MY REFLECTION
RELEASE ME FROM THIS OPPRESSION
DO YOU THINK I DESERVE THIS DESTRUCTION?
THINK TWICE AND LOOK BEYOND MY COMPLEXION
TAKE AWAY MY CURSE AND GIVE ME THIS BENEDICTION
I NEVER SAW THAT DREADLOCKS SOLDIER BUT I HEARD HIS SONG “REDEMPTION”
MY SON THREAD CAREFULLY BECAUSE MANY HAVE FALLEN HERE SO TAKE CAUTION
MANY GIRLS WITH PRETTY FACES CAME INTO MY LIFE WITH LIES FILLED IN THEIR MOUTH AND I HAD TO GIVE A LITTLE AFFECTION
MANY FACES WILL REFLECT BACK WITH SMILES BUT DON’T BE DECEIVED THEY HAVE THEIR OWN CONTENTION
REMINISCING I SEE FLASHES OF MY PAST IN THE MIRROR, I WISH I COULD BREAK IT AND CAUSE A COMMOTION
FOOL NEVER BRAG YOUR BREATH ONE DAY WILL LEAVE YOUR SYSTEM THAT’S DIFFUSION
I CLOSE MY EYES WITH MY MISSION CAP ON BECAUSE I AM A SOLDIER WITH A VISION
HEY MIRROR I’M FED UP LEAVE ME ALONE AND LET ME CONCENTRATE ON MY LAMENTATION

BELIEVE ME

BELIEVE ME WHEN I TELL THE MASSES OF THEIR VICES
BELIEVE ME WHEN I TELL YOU NO MAN CAN BRING COMFORT BUT HARSH
BELIEVE WHEN I TELL YOU THAT IT TAKES TIME TO HEAL TIME
BELIEVE ME WHEN I TELL YOU VERY FEW BRAVE HEARTS HAD REAL HEARTS
BELIEVE ME WHEN I TELL YOU THAT A HEART THAT BELIEVES IS THE HEART THAT CAN CAUSE A CHANGE IN REALITY
BELIEVE ME WHEN I TELL YOU THAT MAN IS CONSTANTLY FIGHTING WITH HIS EGOS TO ACCEPT THAT LOVE IS THE LAST KEY TO UNLOCK EVERY MYSTERY
BELIEVE ME WHEN I TELL YOU THAT THE AUTHENTICITY OF ONE THOUGHT IS DEFINED BY HIS UNSEEN SELF
BELIEVE ME WHEN I TELL YOU THE TRUTH CAN NEVER BE FOUND IN BOOKS OR IN HISTORIES BUT THE TRUTH IS OUR OWN SELF
BELIEVE WHEN I TELL YOU ONE GETS TO UNDERSTAND THE INGENUITY OF THE SUPREME THROUGH NATURE
BELIEVE ME WHEN I TELL YOU THAT EVERY BLEEDING HEART NEEDS A DOSE OF LOVE TO HEAL
BELIEVE ME WHEN I TELL YOU WORDS FADE WITH TIME BUT THE TRUTH BECOMES STRONGER WITH TIME
BELIEVE ME WHEN I TELL YOU THAT THE WORDS I TELL YOU IS UNDERSTOOD BY THE INSPIRED

MY SEVEN POEMS TO AFRICA: SOMALIA

I FEEL THE PAINS OF SOMALIA EVEN THOUGH I AM NOT KENYATTA
BLOODY STREETS FILLED WITH BLOODY AL-SHABAABS’ FEEDING THE HUNGRY CHILDREN WITH NAKED BULLETS
THEY TRADE PEACE FOR FOOD
CAN THIS BE FOOD FOR THOUGHT?
FROM AFAR I SEE A WIDOW IN A ROOM WITH NO WINDOWS AND NOT WANTING TO SEE DAY LIGHT BECAUSE HER DAUGHTER DIED ON THE FIRST FLIGHT
SO I DREW CLOSER AND ASKED HER, “CAN THE AXE IN HER ROOM ASK THE QUESTIONS OF HER LOST DAUGHTER?”
SHE TOLD ME; “THE UNTOLD WILL BE TOLD WHEN THE STORY TO BE TOLD HAS ITS LAST PAGE”
SO I FACE THE MAZE WITH MY DAYS LEFT TO TELL THE WORLD OF THE UNTOLD OF SOMALIA
AL-SHABAABS’ LIKE A VULTURE WITH NO CULTURE OF HUMAN DIGNITY WILL DECEIVE THE SOMALIANS AND AFRICANS WITH THEIR FAKE GESTURES
THEY SAY AFRICA UNION (A.U) WITH A DOMINION BUT THEY LACK VISSION LIKE A TOOTHLESS DOG WITH HER OWN VERSION OF A FICTION MOVIE CALLED “NO BETTER PLACE LIKE SOMALIA”
WE HAVE TURNED A BLIND EYE ON THE MASSACARE HAPPENING IN SOMALIA AS IF AFRICANS WERE BORN BLIND
YOU CAN PRETEND TO PREACH LOVE AND UNITY TO THEM BECAUSE FOOLS WILL ALWAYS BE FOOLED IN AN ATMOSPHERE DUBED “IGNORANCE”
WHEN WE SLEEP AND DREAM OF A BETTER DAY, LET US ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT THE CHILDREN OF SOMALIA DO NOT SLEEP, SO HOW CAN THEY DREAM?

OUR UNTOLD POEM

I BELIEVE EVERY WORD WE WROTE WILL FILL EVERY SPACE IN THEIR THOUGHTS
IT TOOK A LOT OF COURAGE TO MAKE OUR PENS BLEED
LIFE IN HIS OWN RIGHT HAS BEEN CRUEL TO US LIKE MOTHERS WHO WILL VIOLENTLY
DENY THEIR SONS AND DAUGHTERS THE MILK IN THEIR BREASTS
OUR TEARS WERE ENDLESS
OUR FAITHS BECAME HOPELESS
OUR FATHERS WOULDN'T BLESS US WITH THEIR LAST NAMES BECAUSE THEY SAID WE
ACTED BASTARDLY
EVEN IN TORN CLOTHES, THERE WERE NO MERCIES FOR OUR POOR SOULS
WE JOIN HANDS STEADILY IN PRAYERS BECAUSE THAT WAS ONLY WAY TO FIGHT WHAT
WAS UNSEEN
ALONG THE WAY WE LOST BROTHERS AND SISTERS WHO SCARIFIED THEIR BREATH TO
MAKE US WIDEN THE BREADTH BETWEEN FAILURE AND SUCCESS
THEY WEREN'T OUR BLOOD TIES BUT THEY WERE MORE THAN THE HYPOCRITES WE HAD
THEIR LEGACIES FOREVER LIVES IN OUR HEARTS, SO TODAY WE BOW TO THE FALLEN
SOULS
TODAY WE PROVE ALL SKEPTICS WRONG WITH OUR EGOS BECAUSE WE LIVING LIKE
HEROES WHO WERE NEVER CAST DOWN IN GROUND ZERO
MORE EMPHATICALLY WE ARE THE FACT THEY ARE HOLDING ON TO BECAUSE THEIR
THOUGHTS ARE SINKING THEM
