I'M Not Your Playing Field

How could this happen to me
I had it all you know
The way that it was
Before I starred in your little show
I played your fool
You made me look pretty dumb

And no, I’m not quite over it
You hurt me so deep down
I loved you more than anything
Never wanted to make you frown

Well those days are over
No more Miss. Nice girl
I’ve learned your ways
Now I know
To you its just a game

Well my life is not your playing field
My friends are not your playing field
And I am not your playing field
Not your playing field anymore

Life In General

Isn’t life a funny thing? Sometimes, it’s like you’re on top of the world; nothing
can faze you. But then, other times, its like you’re lying in a pit on the side of a
road in the desert or something. When you have those good times, you don’t ever
even think that in two weeks, or even two hours, you could be lying in that pit. All
you can think about is the fact that you’re on top of the world, and that it’s very
possibly the best feeling ever. But then, when you finally fall (or get pushed) into
that pit, you wonder what happened. You were just on top a minute ago, and now,
here you are, on the bottom again, wondering what in the world happened to you.
But I guess there’s really nothing we can do about it. I mean, nobody ever
promised us that we’d be on top forever. When its happening to you, you think
that nobody else ever has problems, and it always looks as though they’re all on
top while you’re lying in that pit. But then, if you look around, you’ll realize that it’s
not just you, it’s everyone. We all go through it, and nobody’s on the top forever.
So I guess we all just have to live for those times when it’s our turn to be on top,
when it’s our turn to win. We just need to keep our heads held high, and even
when were on the bottom, if we act like were on top, perhaps well get there
sooner.
