Through the Gates of the City

That precious life in beautiful consonance
Where feelings and life are constant
The Alpha’s, the Omega’s children ingress into unity
We, meek, abased on our knees for his glory
With musical inflections and modulations
Bestowing him with praise
He has presented us with his overlay
Successfully, we have overcome the ill ones temptations
No longer having to fight to deny
The serpent’s fabricated meed
Here we graze the crown of thorns
There we sing a sweet, euphonious hymn
And devour our Lord’s fruit from the Tree of Life

Salvation

An unfledged soul in eminent need

Longing for truth, yearning for purity

While trying to die to my flesh daily

I was beclouded with confusion

I was set up by an affliction

Causing me to rearrange my deliberation

Now I have abased myself

Praying for salvation

New Purpose

My past composed—
                                                   Revenge, lust, drunkenness, idolatry
Today, ordained by the will of God—
                                                                    Flesh ridden
                                                           They, affectedly pious,
                                                            Those self-righteous
Spit their critique on my choice
To live for Him who freed me
                                                         To them I am unparallel,
Not drowning in my old shame
I have been dressed in sin before—
                                                              Weary laden and lost
                                                             Until I inhaled His word
                                                               And took it to heart—
                                                                   I hold it close
He freed me from my burdens,
                                                        Washed away my thriving sin
                                                                I took His easy yoke
And He bestowed on me His promise
                                                          Love, healing, and peace
                                             Free from meaningless, worrisome toil
                                                                      To them I say
                                                                   I am not parallel,
                                                      But clothed in spiritual purpose
                                                                I now live for Him—
                                                                          Forgiven
I strive to become His reflection
                                                                 Until His day come

Purity Lost

He thrust in me
What some call “love”
Feeling the pleasures
Of a hidden pain
My emotions digress
Falling into an empty soul
Stained by my flesh
Ripping myself off
Purity lost
And an undiscovered love
Swept away
