One of Those Days

Today was one of those days,
The days where I can't breathe.
Where I have to close my eyes for a moment,
A moment because it's hard to believe.

Today I could feel the hole inside,
The hole I've tried so hard to fill.
But there is space inside of me,
A space that longs for you still.

Most days I can shut out the pain,
Move along like you've never left.
But today was one of those days,
Where I had to stop to catch my breath.

As hard as I try to fight it,
Fight the pain you left behind.
Sometimes I must let it consume me,
Or I fear I'll loose my mind.

You left behind a ragged mess,
A a mess that's tattered and torn.
I'll never give my heart away,
Off true love I've sworn.

As much as I wish to replace you,
Find someone else to dull the ache.
I can't give my heart away again,
That's a risk I'm not willing to take.

Your poison in my veins almost killed me,
To this day some still remains.
Often with beats of my heart,
I feel it coursing through my veins.

While yes I'm getting stronger,
Breathing easier everyday.
Our life plays over as memories,
A movie forever stuck on play.

And today was just one of those days,
A day where I let myself feel the pain.
The pain that's a constant reminder,
That i will never be the same.

Face

My life was all in shambles There was so much disarray And then I see the one Face That gets me through the day. My world is crashing down The walls are closing in That face keeps me from crossing The line that is so thin. When I think that I've hit the bottom That I've lost all that's true I close my eyes and see that face And I thank God I have you.

Empty Without You

There's times I cry and times I smile, but honestly the truth is darling, it's been a while. For years I had you right by my side, then things happened and we both lied. I lost half my heart that horrible day, when you looked at me, then walked away. I'm not gonna lie your hole I tried to fill, but nothing changed it my heart loved you still. Then you came back with such hurt in your eyes, it made me forget all our tearful goodbyes. I rushed to your side for that's where I belong, I was so glad to see you, even though so much was wrong. In a time tinged with sadness my heart held such joy, and I told you how I felt I was tired of being coy. When I looked in your eyes, and you looked in mine, my heart felt more whole than it's been in a long time. I hoped we had fixed things, so we can start over new. Because, baby, I realized my life is empty without you. So now I wait patiently till I'm back in your arms, safe and sound again, protected from harm.

Lead Me

Please take my hands and lead me,
Lead me somewhere far way from here.
Only you can lighten my darkness,
Only you can quell the fear.

Please take my hands and lead me,
Lead me to some quiet place.
Only your touch can calm me,
Only you can fill the space.

Please take my hands and lead me,
Lead me somewhere you can hold me tight.
Only you can hold me,
Only your touch gets me through the night.

Please take my hands and lead me,
Lead me somewhere to whisper my name.
Only your voice can reach me,
Only you words can kill the shame.

Please take my hands and lead me,
Lead me somewhere new.
Only you can save me,
And only I can save you.

Untitled

My life had hit a hard place
I thought I'd never find my way.
Then I stumbled upon you
And I hoped so much you'd stay.
So many people leave me,
And I'm really not sure why.
It's moments like this and days like these,
That keep me glancing at the sky.
However, when I look at you,
My entire world seems right.
That sparkle and your warm embrace,
Will see me though the fights.
Even when the thought,
Of leaving crosses your mind.
Please take a moment just to think,
Of what you may leave behind.
I found you in a tough time,
And told you it would be rough.
You looked at me and simply said,
Our love would be enough.
So now as all the days pass by,
Through the heartache and the tears.
You have kept your word and stayed,
Proving false all of my fears.
Although I felt abandoned,
With you I had a place.
Whenever I felt lonely,
I could look up at your face.
Even though time is slowly moving,
And life hasn't gotten worse.
Still lingering in the back of my mind,
Is the worry of my curse.
So far you've proven good enough,
That nothing could make you leave.
And even though your in my heart,
I still find it hard to believe.
So I ask you one last time,
To ignore my stupid traits.
And to put your trust in me,
Leave our love life to the fates.

Not Forgotten

You never took a single breath
You're feet never touched the ground
I never got to hear your voice
Or utter a single sound
And yet my heart is filled with love
Amidst the hurt and pain
Because I choose to hear your voice
In the sound of the falling rain
You were not meant to be here
I will never understand why
I know that you'll be looking down
From your home up in the sky
Though my arms barely held you
I felt the softness of your skin
And now I choose to believe
You hid a hug within the wind
The world just keeps on spinning
The world you never got to see
Though your time was swift and brief
Your impact was left on me
Now every time I go outside
And feel a gentle gust
I will know deep in my heart
That you are here with us.
