Maureen Lefanue Poem
“Good-bye my daughter dear,” she said
As tears welled up in her eyes
“It’s time for me to go to sleep
This must be no surprise
The good Lord knows my battles
And my health is ailing still
He’s given me so many blessings
I’ve passed them to you in my will
I’m sad to say good-bye
For we have shared much joy
Remember me to Sarah
My grandchild I love and enjoy
I love you my daughter
These years together have been sweet
I’m so glad you love the Lord
And again we will meet
I’m not afraid of dying
‘Cause I know that in a while
Christ will call me from my grave
I feel my life has been worthwhile
For I taught you to seek your Father
To help you through every trial
He’ll always be there to guide you
With never a denial
I leave you in His hands”, she said
As she gently kissed her daughter’s hand
Her eyes closed very slowly
Against cancer she’d lost her stand
She’d been a wonderful mother
Teacher and true friend
Faithful to her Lord
And gracious to the end.

Pray For Protection
“2 The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety.“ Psa 18:2 NLT
Pray For Protection
For yourself and your loved ones.
You need daily protection
From the evil that comes.
Satan comes to pull you down,
Demotivate and destroy.
You need protection in this battle;
God’s army to deploy.
Pray For Protection;
For your safety and your health;
You require protection for your home;
Your finances and your wealth.
Pray For Protection
From the devil’s many schemes.
He’s created a million or more,
Or so it actually seems.
Pray For Protection
For your loved ones’ welfare.
Pray for their health;
Their safety and daily care.
Ask the Lord to show you,
For what you need to pray;
To preserve those you love,
Each and every day.
Pray For Protection
For your nation and its leaders.
Pray for their guidance and honesty,
And freedom from slander.
Pray for your church
And the folk in your congregation.
You can really make a difference,
When you Pray For Protection!

Parable of the Seed
“10 He said, “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that, “‘though seeing, they may not see; though hearing, they may not understand.’11 “This is the meaning of the parable: The seed
is the word of God. 12 Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved.” Luke 8:10-12 NIV
We are the soil, and God’s Word the seed—
God is the farmer of the field.
The birds of the air is Satan and his host,
To whom the wicked yield.
When the seed falls on stony ground,
It withers in the sun and dies.
But when it falls on healthy soil,
On the Lord, it continually relies.
Good seeds are the Children of the Kingdom;
Weeds belong to the wicked one.
God’s seed represents His words of truth;
The weeds God’s truth have shun.
Let’s be like the soil of the mustard seed
And produce a tree of might.
When the birds lodge in its shadows,
They cannot destroy with blight.
The Word of God is a mighty seed,
When spoken and when read;
Mightier than many tall trees,
Where the ‘birds of the air’ have bed.
When we submit to the ‘farmer’,
And devour His precious truth seed;
Allow Him to tend and water us,
With heaven we’ll be agreed.
So when the Word of God is spoken
And truth absorbed with great delight,
The soil [saints] will prosper and flourish—
Of wickedness lose sight.
But when seed falls on the pathway,
That’s trodden down by time,
The heart is not receptive;
Has no desire for truth divine.

The Easter Prayer of Thanks
"2 There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. 3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow." Matt 28:2-3 NIV
God, thank you for the gift of Easter;
The sacrifice of your Son so treasured.
To save our souls through your grace and mercy,
That by heaven alone can be measured.
Thank you for giving us hope;
The hope of life after the grave.
Winter dies and Spring comes to life—
The resurrection of the saved!
Your hand rules the universe
With great glory and power.
We give thanks for your love for us,
And for every beautiful opening flower.
We thank you for the birds
That sing your praises every morn,
And for the lofty mountains
That with Winter's snow you adorn.
Thank you for friends and family
And the blessings that they bring,
At this very special time—
Christ's resurrection and the grandeur of Spring!
Thank you for salvation
Made possible by your love.
Thank you that we have the hope of heaven—
Easter's promise from above.
May we all meet our Redeemer,
As you come for us in the air,
Because of Easter's hope of eternity,
and the privilege of prayer!
Amen

Maureen Lefanue Poem
I Fix My Eyes On Eternity
“17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Cor 4:17-18 NIV
I Fix My Eyes On Eternity,
And deny my flesh worldly lusts.
The will of the flesh reaps corruption;
The will of the Spirit’s a must.
I will live soberly and righteously
By the power of God from on high.
I depend entirely on my Father—
His promises, He’ll not deny.
My sinful nature has been put to death;
My life’s now hidden with my Lord.
I Fix My Eyes On Eternity,
Enabling me to stay in heaven’s accord.
My Lord will purify me
And redeem me from every lawless deed.
In my heart, He’s fixed eternity
To grow and bloom like a farmer’s seed.
I look for the blessed hope
And the glorious second coming of my Lord.
To focus on this world and its cares,
I simply cannot afford.
Christ is the author and finisher
Of my faith that does reside.
In His grace and loving mercy,
My life I presently hide.
I Fix My Eyes On Eternity—
Life in heaven and the earth made new.
My heart yearns for the permanent;
Not like earth’s temporary venue.
I imagine my body made immortal—
No more pain or sickness within.
A life that’s filled with joy, peace and love—
A kingdom that’s free from sin!

The Pain and the Agony
The Pain and the Agony
Jesus felt that day;
It tortured His being;
Death held no delay.
Even to take a breath
The pain was so extreme;
The sins of us all,
Crushed him beam to beam.
The cross of the Romans;
Built to inflict much pain.
The pain of our sin-bearer
Was suffered for our gain.
Because He truly loves us,
He was prepared to die.
Stricken on the cross,
Few heard His agonizing cry!
The cross was one of victory—
Victory over death,
When Christ gave up the Spirit;
Breathed His last breath.
Satan in his ignorance
Thought he’d finally won;
Didn’t know this was just the beginning;
New life would be given God's only Son.
The Pain and the Agony;
Blood was shed for you and me.
This ultimate sacrifice
God gave to set us free;
Freedom from the bondage
Of sin that Satan brought,
Upon a sinless Eden,
To bring us sin's onslaught.

Maureen Lefanue Poem
The Many Ways God Speaks To Us
There are many ways God’s seeking
To make Himself known.
But is man listening and looking
To understand Nature’s revealing crown.
It talks to our human senses
Every waking moment of the day.
And in the night so deep and dark,
His starry heavens come into play.
In the smile of a new born baby
And those tiny hands so sweet,
God shows us His creation glory
Our own image to repeat.
In Spring it is the flowers
And their aromatic perfume;
The lambs frisking with each other;
Birds and their babies singing the same tune.
In the lakes and babbling brooks
He speaks to us as well.
Full of fish and waterfalls—
Many ignored stories to tell.
The wind whispering through the trees
But never can be seen;
Sways the tallest of the forest;
Then disappears like a dream.
We see Him in the thunder storm
And in lightning bolts so bright.
They light up His majestic heavens,
Even in the darkest night.
In the white snow of winter,
When those flakes begin to fall,
Gently in their uniqueness
They rest to cover one and all.
If we would but look and listen
To see God’s many ways
Of teaching us precious lessons
Of obedience and praise.
Stars in their trackless courses
Follow their appointed place and time.
Why does man think he’s so different;
Self-sufficient, yet needing the Divine?
The many ways God speaks to us
Are far too many to name.
How can anyone say, “There’s no God”,
Such blindness should be put to shame.
God’s creation is all around us
In the sun, moon, stars and sea;
In everything beautiful He’s created
That surrounds us lovingly.

Maureen Lefanue Poem
“Thou shalt guide me with Thy counsel,
and afterwards receive me to glory.” Psa 55:22
Lord I seek your guidance
For your counsel is sure
Show me Your will
May my transgressions be fewer
Your guidance is necessary
And Your counsel essential
For me to see your glory
To reach my full potential
Of myself I have no power
So I daily beseech
The guidance and counsel
You willingly teach
I am not always as surrendered
As you want me to be
To prepare me for glory
With a powerful testimony
Give me the courage
To show others the way
Share your wise counsel
To those gone astray
Let them know that works
Will never suffice
That’s why You made
The ultimate sacrifice
Your promise of glory
I want dearly to share
With my brothers and sisters
I want to be there
Please God make them willing
To hear Your words
See the guidance and counsel
That your glory affords
We are but helpless
In our human plight
Give us your wise counsel
Eyes wide open for your great insight.

Maureen Lefanue Poem
IN MY HEART THERE’S A MELODY
In my heart there’s a melody
A song that must be sung
That melody is sweeter
Than when it first begun
Each day the joy increases
As that melody persists
That melody is Jesus
A melody, my heart cannot resist.
In my heart there’s a melody
I want all the world to share
This melody’s so sweet
It fills any heart that cares.
Cares for a brother
To help him on his way
Place a touch of heaven’s joy
In another’s heart today.
In my heart there’s a melody
Placed there by my Saviour
To make this life more joyful
Regardless of other’s behaviour.
For this melody transcends
Every single circumstance
Joy reigns supreme
Regardless of encumbrances.
In my heart there’s a melody
It’s not a human thing
But a spiritual blessing
That the Holy Spirit brings.
It is my prayer for you
That you will hear it too
For this melody’s so beautiful
Of this world, it’ll change your view.

Maureen Lefanue Poem
“ 9But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.” 2 Cor 12:9 NIV
Give me Your power, Lord
For on You I rely.
Create in me a pure heart;
My weakness to deny.
Make me more like you, Lord.
Give me Godly sorrow and repentance.
Wash me with Your precious blood;
Cleansed by your acceptance.
Your power is the only way
I can represent You,
For my weakness still exists,
Even when Your power’s in view.
Upon You I am dependent
Each and every day.
You said Your grace is sufficient—
For Your continued power, I pray.
If there be any anxious thoughts,
Or lack of faith somehow,
I ask You to change me;
Wipe all fear from my brow.
Gift me Your gift of faith;
For all I rely on You.
For each and everything I need,
I depend upon Your power true.
Give me Your power, Lord;
Faith in consistent actions.
Clothe me with Your glory;
Reign in all my communications.
Make me like You, Lord,
So to others, I’m a witness
of Your redeeming power and grace;
Your enabling robe of righteousness.
