Home

Before we met didn't know where I belong

Amidst my familiar..I didn't feel at home.

Just as Dorothy.. I could click my heels

Or prepare a ballad to sing how I feel.

Before we met Myself I couldn't express

All that I felt though I did my very best.

Now all I have to do is pick up my pen

Write on my paper what I couldn't say then.

Thank you, fellow 'penners'

Mary Did You Know

He laid down his head thankfully upon a bed of straw
Mary his mother softly caressing his head, singing him to sleep
His father Joseph eyeing the sheep, cows, and other guest there
While the sound of "Messiah" blows through the crisp night air.
Mary did you know?

Not one trumpet blared as the Messiah was manger born
The sounds of maternal birth pains followed by an angelic cry
No children singing, no bells ringing, not one parade in sight
To announce that the Savior, Jesus, was born this very night

Mary, did you know?
Yours that was seen as the least... is really the most?
Your manger born Messiah- appeared from the right hand of God
The crucifiers saw him with hatred, that's what they wished to see
Was the grown up baby Jesus....that would soon deliver me..
Mary, did you know?

My Pie

My pie
                                                  May I ask why
                                            I opened wide my eye
Thought I'd never see a hole in
                                                        My pie

Sammy the Seaman

Today we celebrate
Sammy the Seaman
who caught enough
to overfill his big net.

It's truly amazing that
he fed every family
from one single catch
which we'll never forget.

Snakes

Snakes
                                    Beautiful Muscular
                                   Slither speak strike
                            powerful boastful fear retreat
                                           Snakes

Trees

Stop and look at the
trees in the wind look
how they sway back and forth
greeting all they meet.

Their leaves are so
beautiful that they catch
your very eye while the
willows bow at your feet.

Confessions To a Bartender

BARTENDER! BARTENDER! Pour me a drink if you please
strongest you got...get the lime twist it, with a squeeze.
Had a rough night last night..got a bug for your ear
Pour yourself a stiff one..buddy... come-sit right here.
Remember the man I told you about -I saw the other day?
Said it's his playground....ask me to come out and play?
I went over that night…my husband’s out of town-
Bartender…let me tell you..let me tell you what I found..
Mansion..pure mansion..from the front to the back
Money everywhere..he definitely has no lack
Bartender.. he..had..me- when he turned down the lights
He got closer asked me to stay even spend the night.

The dim lights, soft music, scent of his Drakkar Noir
Girl..I was ready what else could a girl ask for?
Just when I prepared to form my lips to say “yes”
What happened next.. go ahead take a guess
I tossed my head back to masculine scents of his cologne-
Another song began to play, girl it was my phone.
My husband was calling me.. he was on his way back-
Bartender, I thought I would die.. have a heart attack!!
I hurried up and got my shoes..coat and all the rest
If it hadn’t been for that…well..you know, I must confess!

children prepare their costumes
