Ryan Vaterlaus Poem
There's a teacher named Gerkey.
He sells lots of jerky.
If you won't pay,
he'll send you away,
and you won't get jerky form Gerkey.

Ryan Vaterlaus Poem
The stories flowed but were not heard.
The language strange from foreign word.
You keep working through day and night.
You spread that which is out of sight.
Chapters released for hungry minds.
Chapters' tales this reader finds.
Translated and rewrote each word,
so story's meaning is transferred.

Ryan Vaterlaus Poem
A grotesque gamer gobbles gummies grunting gleefully at his game.
Sounds of slaughter spewing from the surround sound speakers.
The cunning commando combats a clearing 'cross countless cretins.
Validating his victory only after violently vanquishing the virtual villains.

Ryan Vaterlaus Poem
You are the one who gives us light.
You help us read by being bright.
To empty our rooms of the dark.
To even brighten up the park.
Many use you every hour.
I don't like to waste that power.
You've helped to fight the dark of night,
but sleeping I don't need my sight.

Ryan Vaterlaus Poem
You are the one who won't be said.
You will be kept until we're dead.
To be hidden from prying eyes.
To be covered by many lies.
Many can't keep their big mouths shut.
I shall hide you within my gut.
You've had others who let you spread,
But I will keep you left unsaid.

Ryan Vaterlaus Poem
You are the one who makes one tall.
You never make one feel too small.
To hold people high in the sky,
to make them feel like they could fly.
Many have used you with excess,
I shall not cause I need you less.
You've given much help to the small,
but us tall need you not at all.

Ryan Vaterlaus Poem
You keep people warm in the cold.
You help them 'til their ripe and old.
To cling really hard to their chest,
To shield them from winter's best.
Many wear you all through the day.
I do not need you where I lay.
You've helped warm the ones that you hold,
but I let go and had you sold.
