'til Death Do We Part

mascara of rain flakes onto a cheek
trickling off of glass skin
sadly how does it whisper
listen
music box lullabies muffle
under wrinkled sheets
sewn with her dying
silent cries
awaken
she cannot understand
that people so lovely return to God
as her feet touch pavement
wet with anguish
a dry crack stills the earths spin
a hoarse scream erupts
from her chest
o how sweet
her passion to deaths grip
mustering her remaining mind
never to be stifled
love
the everlasting bind of loyalty
goes beyond a grave
dug of body and not of soul
she rests her head on soil
kissing the petals she has brought
honor to beloved
to whom she sacrificed her heart
never-ending
whether they reunite in the alternate
is decided on a page not yet written

My Love

To come and lay down words is once a task, A life without you means but my defeat To love someone behind their plastic mask, Sweet words become a puzzle, now complete. Desire doth now cloud my sight and mind, A painted work compares to bursting love It seems as now the stars become aligned, I wouldn't doubt a song leaks from above. A melody from Heaven will seem dark, When all the earth wakes from its little dream, The seraphs call for worlds to pause and hark, Just to see your face, a radiant beam. God calls for quiet when you speak a word, There's nothing you will say that won't be heard.

Unity

At the heart of our country, Lay their names in the black stone The promise that set us free, Was tied when their courage shone. They stood and they fought for us, And for that, we give our voice The valiant, brave, and just, Let us stand, join hands; rejoice. As they’ve gained the greatest wealth, Today, their stories are shared. Love your neighbor as yourself, Like these heroes also cared. The tales of these brave soldiers, Our brothers, sisters, neighbors Some younger and some older, An act of selfless labor. With freedom to celebrate, Liberty to speak our minds We realize the death of hate, And press to follow behind. We’re born as a new nation, At their final endeavor Their courage our salvation, We stand united, forever.
