Mending

Let it travel over the mountans
Across the plains
To the distance from where I sit.
When it finally reaches your ears
Let it be known
These words I send to you for a reason.

I have heard your cry
Each calling that becomes louder
One after the other.
To you I bring solace and comfort
For the heart's door is open
For you to walk straight into.

I am comming home to you
Give you love that you yearned for
Hold you in an embace
To warm your body and heart............
To make you feel
Like honey to the tongue.

You will suffer no more
Mine is pure and true
To rinse your soiled heart.........
Off memories you wish to forget
Yes to make a new you
Happy inside all of the time.

Lifes lessons
I sure too has leart the hard way
Heartbreaks, memories and sorrows.
The world has taught me to endure
With this I come to you
So that together we can mend.

For You, Only You

It all came back to me
When the winds of yesterday
Crossed over my mind.
Bringing sweetness in the heart
Delight and enjoyment.........
That you are well after many suns and moons.

To my remembrance
Came the first time we met
Opening in the mind like a flower bud.
In the wind I could smell the aroma
In the eyes I could see the petals
The way you looked many years ago and now.

For a time memories returned
Of a time me and you walked in the wild
Secluding our love from both the admirers and the envious.
Do you still hear the rivers ?
The trickle song they enchanted............
In praise of the togetherness we found ?

A coo here, a coo there
The doves would sing.
Flight to the skies
Again to the trees
Songs continued in a language only them understood......
A language we unknowingly got to learn.

When the time came
Then life's reasons split us apart,
Rivers learned to trickle from our eyes
Flowers shed to loose beauty and aroma
Doves that had lost one another cooed no more
Flying in the wind in search of one another in the unknown.

With the many years and seasons
Our hearts and feelings
Bare like the mountains..........
Bore the changing seasons
The rains, sun and the winds
Hearts adopted to harden with changed times.

You were right you know
It was time to move on...........
It was all in your eyes
Together we ventured
Seasoned, hardened and hopeful
You took to your way, me mine.........

It was nice to meet you again.

Self Destruction

Tell them oh! sun
Why your rays fall harsh
Making global warming.
Tell them of desertification
Melting of the arctic
They know not my language.

Ask them why the green gas
Why industrial smoke ?
Speak oh! sun.
Let us all learn
Complain oh! sun
Someone must listen.

Speak oh! rain
Tell them why you flood
And why you loose your pattern.
Tell them why you fail to fall
Making drought, famine
You have your voice.

Shout oh! rivers
Tell them why you dry
Why you change color.
Complain about industrial dumping
About deforestation
Something must change.

Wind speak up
Stand up and be counted.......
Tell them why the hurricanes
Cyclones and tempests
Why you breeze less no more
You have a voice of your own.

Tell them oh! soil
Why you loose fertility
I am sure it is not age.
Complain about the farming methods
The chemicals
Herbicides and pesticides.

Rise oh! waters
The lakes, seas and oceans
Why you anger
Giving us fish no more
Making angry waves and tides
They are responsible.

Stand oh! air
Say why you are so stuffy
Talk about pollution
Speak for the trees
Arise and stand
In the wind talk to them.

Wild Flower

Deep into the green of the forest
I once took to safari
To discover the secrets of the wild.
Among the thickets and the bushes
I saw a flower in blossom
Shining like in its first day of bloom.

That was one time my eyes fell on you
Among the population in my home town
Like the flower that I saw.....
It was you shining among them
You comforted my heart
Making me come up to you.

That was then the day
Like a dove that had lost its partner
I cooed, you to woo.
How you made me discover my lyrics again
to you I sung and danced
Song after song I spoke my heart to you.

Little did I know wild flower
You would return love in abundance
Like the sands of the sea.......
Day after day I shovel for love
Ever abundant, never ending
The reason my heart follows you.

Tempted and pleased with your ways
In the wild I would never let you be.
With care and utmost wanting I dug you up
Planting you in the garden of my heart
There you flourish
There you bloom and shine.

Am I In Love With Myself

Labors of life
I till the soils
Like a farmers will with seed.
Intent is good
So is promise
The season will show.

So do I have love
Urging and restless
Searching in your eyes, heart and soul…….
Somewhere to find rest
Somewhere to remain buried
With hope it will grow.

Butterfly in the wind you dance and play
Flower upon flower you impress
With a coat of many colors.
Perhaps you will flap your wings upon me………..
Play with me
Natures intention.

I admire your beauty
And your ways too
But many are of my kind
With hopes and wishes like mine……..
The reason I await
Until you make it my turn.

A flower beside a pool
In still waters my reflection shows
My petals set in Godly beauty
Aroma I give to strangers…….
Free of charge, for all, for you
But you never give response.

Mirror, mirror on the wall
I check just to be sure
If she will notice me
For I perceive what I deem fair to her?
Perhaps I don’t know yet
That I am in love with myself.

Pebble

My heart
A pebble in water
Where your constant loving
Flows over me.
Keeping it clean
Every time, everyday.

Freedom

Tears that flow
Each time I look back.....
Waters that run down my cheeks
Meeting my lips
I discover that you are the salt in my tears.....
Squeezed from the fruit of emotion.

Winds that blow freely
From my lips
When tunes of loneliness
Out to console.
I make discovery the air we breath in
Is the same we breathe out.

The drum that paces
Rhythm within my ribs
Racing with these thoughts of you.
Mystic once blowing
Looses rhythm
With these your vexations.

So let me be
Me and you can never be
I want to be free....
Like a butterfly
Let me dance in the air
Land on the flower I choose.

Spare a Thought For Me

Soft melodies from the bar room
Sounds so nice to hear
Perhaps they are extra inviting
To a country boy like me…..
Persuasion waits at every turn
It just won’t let me be
Honey when you retire to bed tonight
Spare a thought for me.

I miss your gentle hold and kiss
Of love and romance
These thoughts of love now so cruel and wanting
So honey when you retire for sleep tonight
And search for the lost dreams
Spare a special thought for me.

As the night grows old and lonely
And I am here far away from you and home
Wishing for someone to kiss and hold
Know that distance and loneliness is what makes a young lad go wrong
Evil searches through the night for uncertain guys like me
So darling when you retire for sleep tonight
Spare a moment for me

I miss your tender hold and kiss
Of love and assurance
These thoughts of love so cruel and wanting
Darling when you retire for sleep tonight
Searching for the sweet dreams and memories
Spare a thought for me.

Dry and Arid

The environment is harsh
Ground dry with barreness
The rays of the sun fall
Like yesterday, today and tommorow.
Lonely birds sing
In this arid place I now live in.

Scanty clouds show
Grass and shrubs droop in the heat
I scan the skies in hope for waters.
It is my prayer
My wish that waters would fall
To bring back life once again.

Winds howl in the night
Rushing in a journey untold
Chills and cold bite
Avenging attacks of the day.
Such is the habitat
I have been placed to reside.

Once it was all green and alive
This heart of mine
When you and I shared love.
But you left me
Depriving the heart off its needs
Such is the place the heart lives now.

Guns and Roses

Thirsty for laughter
Famished off smiles
Hungry for love
Yes this is me.
Deserted and abandoned
Left to waste.

Separate worlds
The love we shared
Wishes, dreams and aspirations
Greatly different and divergent........
Parallel and conflicting
Like guns and roses.

Reasons enough
For us to live our different worlds
To find harmony
And those that suit us best.......
In our separate worlds
Different thoughts and dreams.

No, it would not hold
Abuse and exploitation
Carelessness and impunity..........
Or so it seemed to me
As you carry your gun with you
I go with my rose.
