In Love With a Rasta

I tilt my head back on this chair while listening to Ky-Mani Marley tag team with Protoje as they speak on Rasta Love.
I think about the story of my lyfe, the unknown me that many can not see.
The piece of me that is missing even at 23.
My lyfe is the spot light to everyone around so loving someone is a challenge to me.
Being an idol has very little room for mistakes but being human they will happen.
Yet love, shouldn't be a mistake because love is an unexplained bond between two people.
Many think they know but how when you have been with so many you "thought" you love...
Lust can be confused with love...
I cover my feelings to prevent the confusion until i understood the difference...
I met a young Jamaican gentleman who lives the Rasta lyfe.
A lyfe my father most likely would not approve of.
I try to distance myself even moving away but I still think and want to be with him.
Even when he calls I can still imagine the smile on his face.
Its been so long tears still form in the corner of my eyes thinking of the times we spent together...
The day i told him i was going away i could see the hurt in his eyes but he still kept his smile.
I never thought I would hear him say the words a Rasta like him would say to me that made me almost give in and pour out my heart.
"I love you."

Wake Up America

Democratics vs Repulicans is a bunch of butt sucking nonsense.
You see i kept myself from cursing on that one. hahaaa
Its rich vs poor, yeah middle class is the new poor of today.
You "voting" because of someone skin color reflects dumbness and racism.
You "voting" because of someone "talking good" reflects lack of education and stupidity.
But before you jump let me explain.
You say "voting for someone of your race is showing support".
Well how about if they wanted to destroy the world would you still put bullets in the gun for them.
"Lets tax the rich and give more support to welfare."
....
Then you wonder why job are disappearing.
Think about that
WAKE UP AMERICA!!!
I'm not taking sides I'm defending myself as a citizen who doesnt cheat on my taxes.
While these females are running around having babies, living the street lyfe and getting government assistants; the people who are working hard with no kids get more money taken out of their check to support these females.
How is it a man can easily be put on child support and go to jail if he pay doesnt matter if he doesnt have a job; yet, a female get the minimum and keep getting chances if she doesn't.
Do I need to continue?
Racism is a factor in this country yes but its the level of maturity that plays a bigger factor.
Just because you "from the hood" does not mean you can't make it to the white house.
Just because you "went to a poor school" doesnt mean you can't be a doctor or lawyer.
And just because one or both of your parents walked out on you doesn't mean you got to be a "thug" or "whore" in the streets to survive.
WAKE UP AMERICA!!!
When someone tells you "you can't" show them you can.
When someone throws dirt on your name, wash that mess off and polish it with knowledge.
Females just because he say "you beautiful" doesn't mean open your legs.
Fellas just because "she looks like a dime" doesn't mean she worth more then a penny.
There once was a time when marriage meant commitment between two people.
Now these days the word "marriage" is used and abused like a terriost prisoner.
Like love...
I'm not here to tell you what to think, how to think, nor when to think but I want you to open up your minds and realize what is going on around you.
America is the home of the great but it's looking like a great disaster.
We are suppose to be the leaders of the world.
Let's get back on track and show why we are on top.
Wake up

My Vow To Music

its in me, the music in my blood my veins it flows continuously.
my heart speaks lyrically as my mind rejoice spiritually.
i live and die for this, music how can you not vibe to this.
let the beat rock, go on and on let the beat rock.
from the blues to r&b from reggae to hip hop the music don't stop.
poetry of the mind to floetry of the heart you can write this and flip flop.
but wait...
if music is your lyfe then don't miss treat it.
if music is your lyfe then put your hands up and gladly repeat this.
Music, this is my vow to you, to stand tall and only speak on whats true.
to represent and respect as my true love, other then the Almighty you are my first love.
us together side by side taken over the world let everybody b a witness.
As we watch the haters grow in number we give them our ass for kisses.
from jazz to rap from country to even pop the music don't stop.
floetry of the heart poetry of the mind you can write this and flip flop.
i live and die for this, music how dare you not vibe to this.
let the beat rock, as the flow continues on let the beat rock.
if music is your lyfe then then pick your mics up and gladly repeat this.
Music, this is my vow to you...

God, Can I Still Be

Dear God,
It's been a long time since I spoke of your name.
I learned your Word but still treated lyfe like a game.
But yet, by my side you remained...
reality hit me and I didn't know how to talk to you.
I got on my knee's but couldn't pull my hands together.
I went to church but was shame to go into your temple.
I sleep with the Good Book by my pillow but quit opening to read
The pastor say, "all you have to do is open your heart and speak."
But I don't feel my words are worth listening to.
So I decided to do what I have been blessed with a gift to do.
That's to write a letter to you.
But where do I begin.
I have done every crime worst then sin.
Shame your name even dishonored mines.
Your Word say, you forgive those who ask.
But i feel my chances are gone.
Even though my guardian angel said I'm your choicen one.
That a special gift is in me and that one day I'll see it.
After every wrong I've done...
God, can I still be?

Cold World

Thinking about my future, I think back in the day.
Growing up in this world, people pushed me away.
Said, "One day they will regret that."
Building my future to get to the top, it's a known fact.
Put my lyfe on the line with this pen.
Speak out to the world until my lyfe end.
It's a cold world yes.
Given this curse many would say I'm blessed.
As young as I am, challenges grow higher in number.
No one knows of my hunger.
Many cry for the fortune and fame.
I aim for greatest and to be the best in the game.
They say I wouldn't make it this far.
Rumored my future in their rap bar.
Sneak dis my ability to press forward.
Wrote down words that didn't come from my vocal cord.
They say you're not missed until you're gone.
So I'ma disappear and cut off my phone.
Its a cold world yes but my head remains high.
I'ma keep fighting to better the game until I die.

Appear

You came to me many times in my dreams.

At first I was scared bt not anymore.

You came in the form of a shadow.

I closed my eyes and turned away in fear but now I see your face has appear.

The pastor feared for many years once upon learning who I am.

A gift to the world sits in the palm of my hands.

For good or for evil, its up to me to decide.

You came to me many times in my dreams.

At first I was scared but not anymore.

You came in the form of a shadow.

I closed my eyes and turned away in fear but now I see your face has appear.

Before the death of my sister, you told me I would have to choose.

I chose my familia then my heart forever became brused.

You went away from my dreams then only came back once my heart became cold.

You reached out your hand yet I only turned it away.

Fighting wars in my dreams of unknown beings.

Voices in my head and visions of unusual seeings.

Picked up the Bible yet only learning of its hidings.

Secerts of a World thats so blind to many.

When someone speaks no one listens.

When the voice up lifts then everyone begins to focus.

Against a belief thats much stronger then our own can leave a person breathless.

I lay down a pad then pick up a pen but my hands refuse to let me write.

Stand in front of a croud to speak of our World but my voice is silence.

You came to me many times in my dreams.

At first I was scared but not anymore.

You came in the form of a shadow.

I closed my eyes and turned away in fear but now I see your face has appear.

You told me respect will be high because of the gift I offer.

You told me I wouldn't have to struggle anymore all I have to do is take your hand.

Walk with you like how I once did with Jesus.

Talk with you like I prayed to God.

Not to bow to your feet but lift out my hand for you to kiss as we bow to each other.

Sit on the right hand side of the thrown.

To have power greater then the World can image.

A new lyfe where you wouldn't have to hope and dream.

You promised me my revenge on the cruel will come.

You promised my my oppinons will be a factor.

No more crying at night because of hunger pains.

Or familia betrayal.

You came to me many times in my dreams.

At first I was scared but not anymore.

I closed my eyes and turned away in fear but now I see your face has appear

Freedom

Let freedom ring, well I been hearing the bell ring for years but no freedom.
I see all my people struggling not just in the ghetto.
Look around another brother killing another.
Getting locked up thinking it is the lyfe.
Sisters showing butt and chest thinking it will get them respect yeah right.
Then wonder why no one wants to take care of their seed.
Jobs turn us away because the way our names are pronounced.
Turn to drugs and start selling their lyfe away by the ounce.
TV shows down play our communities and showing the power of greed.
Then turn around and say the community they want to help feed.
Confusion of religions not realizing we worshiping the same Creator.
Trying to out shine each other but reality is what if we all are wrong.
"Not suppose to question" ,but hiding behind a book will not save you from the end.
Fighting wars we put ourselves into no better then the people we killing.
They use to say we would never make it but that's just an excuse.
Obama showed the world skin color can't hold you back unless you let it.
First black president now serving two terms.
So what is your excuse?

What a Hell of a Night

Hitting up the club is not a new thing.
Every tyme I go something new the night will bring.
Saw him, eyes connected ryte away.
A new victim, yes he is my pray.
Met in the middle of the dance floor.
Within two songs he fell in love, wanting to head to the door.
Thinking to myself, "This is gonna be one hell of a night."
I whispered in his ear, "Take me to higher hights."
He took off his shirt flexing as the club froze right there.
Then he started dancing on me yet everyone else eyes he did not care.
Pulls me close and begins singing in my ear.
My mind starts racing, feeling out of this world yet everything is near.
Enjoyed the gentleness of his hands.
Staying together all night is both of our plans.
Met in the middle of the dance floor.
Got married at the bathroom door.
Enjoyed the married lyfe.
Got divorced by the end of the night.

Untitled

Dreams of a big future including familia and friends.
Crushed by the stone of reality, it's like a madness with no end.
I reach goals yet no one cares to be happy for me.
Down talking, disrespecting, feels like i'm in prison begging to be free.

Hide the scars with makeup.
Cover up the tears with a frown turned up.
Laugh when the pain is too much to handle.
Watching my lyfe slowly fade like the flame from a candle.

How is it I can find peace in a religion thats not my own?
Been away, no one welcomes me home.
Covered in disbelief for the ones that don't care
Peace in any religion is prayer...

Slave To the Mind

They unlock the chains from their hands and feet but not the mind.
Laws with no reason walk the thin line.
Physically able but mentally enslaved.
Brake down emotionally is taken to the grave.

The white man speaks of the burning cross in the South.
Run away to freedom, is only word of mouth.
Free from what; cotton fields and house slaves?
Sign freedom papers but you’re still called “a slave”.
