Gemma Latham Poem
Our eyes silent speech
Warm, strong arms surround me entirely
Feeling so safe, snug, so easily
Talking all night gives me a fresh insight
To the mystery, uncovering that history
Words tripping over my lips and falling fast
But you’re there to catch every word
Hold onto this feeling, make it last
Time spent is short and sweet
Longing for time again we meet
Each moment, absorbing more
Your intelligence, your cheek, your ore
Wisdom, an age old
Please take my money, you have me sold
You fascinate me, incapacitate me
With those fresh eyes, no lies, you can see, so clearly
The world in all its darkness, its harshness
Not rose tinted specs getting you vexed
Not negativity, just the reality
Of what’s really going on, why it’s taking so long
To take down that wall, that was built so tall
Brick by brick they will fall
And you will see of me… all
Into your space, your comfort, your cave
I would resign myself and misbehave
Love making was sweet, passionate and raw
Lusts and urges to strong to ignore
Giving ourselves, one to another
Hidden depths we would seek to uncover
Laying in the stillness of ecstasy’s reach
No words to exchange, just our eyes silent speech

Gemma Latham Poem
True
Moving on to the next, slating the last, moving so fast
Then back to the last and slating the next
Just getting vexed
Trust no one, look out for number one
But have some fun
Along the way, be true to yourself
Stay strong, keep your mind in good health
Don’t waste time, coz who will be there
When mess hits the fan, be the bigger man
Don’t slate anyone behind their back
If it bugs you enough then attack
To the person direct, this may result
In you being the reject
But you know in your mind, that in time
People will see that you stood your ground
And that you should be crowned
For being real, made out of steel
Holding your head high
Not down in the dumps and feeling blue
Its all safe in the knowledge of being true

Gemma Latham Poem
Scared
So you think YOU are scared
You just cant cope, being broke, no hope
So you buckle, jump to her word
Ditch what you’ve heard
All those thoughts that you had
When you were feeling so sad
Just forgotten, down trodden
You’re under the thumb man
Stand up and give a damn
I can tell you about being scared
Wanting to shout out loud but not even dared
Being fifteen and left all alone
Staying a week, then going back ‘home’
Doing my GCSE’s and my brain is racked
My family life has stumbled and cracked
Mum gets arrested for wielding a knife
Dad cannot hide from his trouble and strife
Ben lets it all out by punching a wall
What kind of life is this? Can’t they see it, the fools
Friends in higher education
But my family stole my concentration
Mum and dad are the people you can always trust
But broken promises turn to dust
We all make mistakes and from those we must learn
But again and again, there is no last turn
So much anger has built up inside
That, that happy go lucky girl long ago just died
So next time you’re scared with no strength left to climb
Don’t give up dad, things can only get better with time
