Francis Reyes-Batista Poem
There came a time in my life
When a decision had to be made
One that could and would change everything
Which is why I was afraid
I spent hour upon hour
Thinking of the outcomes
But I decided I was over-thinking
So of that I was done
Then I said I'd try something new
I would listen to my heart
And just hope that after this
We wouldn't fall apart
So when the moment was ripe
And your hand I did caress
I uttered those 4 little words
Praying you'd say yes

Francis Reyes-Batista Poem
My mind is stuck revolving
Around a passion for a girl
And try as I might to stop it
My mind just whirls and whirls
From dawn til dusk I suffer it
She's with me everywhere I go
Not in person but in my heart
Reminding me that I'm alone
From dusk til dawn I suffer it
My dreams are filled with lies
She comes to me so sweetly
But I awake and face goodbye
I find that every thought I think
Resonates with her somehow
And I'd gladly give my heart away
But I don't think that's allowed
Rest assured there is no break
For those with their hearts broken
Just days and days and days of gray
And words that go unspoken

Francis Reyes-Batista Poem
I've been at the edge before, I swear
I've made it to where hope is simmered down;
But there was nothing for me there,
So I simply turned around.
I've retraced all the footsteps, I swear
I've made my way up and back to town;
But there was nothing for me there,
So I simply turned around.
