May Fourth

May 4th

On this day the war
Had finally come to our door
The decision-making was poor
Because the night before had been fiery
But it was an overreaction to call out the national corps
This rashness would lead to the death of four
That would rock a nation and a movement to its core
And only increase a nation’s hatred for the man behind the oaken door
Because these students were not do anything more
Than exercising the right that had been given almost two centuries before
May 4th will be forever know as the day bullets were fired in America’s war

Legacies of October

Legacies of October

Pinstripe domination
Out of nowhere perfection
Pittsburgh’s unexpected celebration
The great Dodger rotation
Gibby’s game 1 animation
69 defies explanation
Green and gold covered the nation
The queen city was king during the second Nixon administration
Reggie’s single-handed ruination
Bean town’s 86 devastation
The heroic apparition
Atlanta’s autumn frustration
An eight decade delayed coronation

June Sixth

June 6th

Early in the war
The very of the Panzers chilled general to their core
But by 42 there cracks in that lore
The next year when the boot fell the sea became the choice to knock down
Hitler’s door
Then the choosing of a strike point came to the fore
The Riche was sure that it would from England’s wool port in the days of yore
Because they had to believe the lore of the wall
This is why Eich decided to land on William’s shore
The enemy did not expect a snake behind this door
When the invasion was successful on June 6th ,1944
It signaled the end of the European war

The Driver In Back

You better watch your back
When he was on the track
Because he was hesitate to give a whack
Confidence he did not lack
He had a knack
For putting Cups in his rack
The jewel they all covet could not find a crack
In 98 he finally put that jewel in his rack
And was as happy as a starving man who has been given his favorite snack
He had walked away from every wreck
But in 01 on the last lap on that legendary track he would not walk away
Here ends the legend of The Drive In Black

Super Sunday Moments

Super Sunday Moments

There was “Broadway Joe’s” guarantee before #3
The Vikings hopes were gone at the Steel Curtain’s dawn
With their victory over the Skins the Dolphins completed their run to perfection
Swan’s heroics in the air were more than the Cowboys could bear
Joe was able to make the Bangles blue in ‘82
His moxie would again seal the Queen City’s fate in ‘88
In ’87 the Giants second half onslaught put them in heaven
In ’91 Big Blue could celebrate again when Norwood was no good
In ’97 the monkey was finally gone for John
In ’99 the finish was simply divine
In ’01 the Pats spoiled the Rams fun at the gun
