I Pledge Allegiance

Counterfeit in politics a prerequisite
For sale by owner, got cash, you can buy
Their influence
God Bless America and all the Capitalists
Starting vanity wars, to the public's pleasing
Forget humanity, we don't need a good reason
You've got a resource, we'll exploit
And criminalize all you endorse
Comply or die, our foreign policy
Ain't about you..it's about me!
The American dream..
Forget about your culture
Cause it's about to get raped
Your new God's the dollar
Won't assimilate?
You just took your last breath
Suckers thinking about escape
The hypocrisy of democracy
Disguised with the mask of liberty
Cause ain't nobody here truly free
The only saving grace
Of infiltration to western waste
Is absolute power corrupts absolutely
Even residents of an establishment
For the people by the people
Have become blase
Sitting and thinking about
What would our forefathers have to say?

Inconsiderate Id

Trite and vain
Very contrary
Behold the irrelevant cliche

Divine Discontent

There is no peace in a war zone
The battlefield's become my home
Casualty is mind and body
Assaulted by my worst enemy
Maybe tonight it'll let me sleep

I can't decide
I don't know why
It's hard letting go of superficial things
Put off by yesterday's reason to be happy
Nothing ever seems to change

Elusive serenity
She doesn't want to visit me
Been so long
And I miss her

Can't do this alone
But I've always been told
No one is worth trusting
Here I am
Fork in the road
I stand
All signs read HOV lanes only

So I guess I'll wait
When joined by another
Closer than a sister or mother
That never goes away

Til then I have to sit and spin
This bizarre web I'm weaving
And hope for better days

Pathologic

Tall tale possessed
Dark heart held ransom
Handsome silver tongued
Slang sucker-punched
Black his blue eyes
Wince at nothing
But truth testified

The Oasis

It's all an illusion see?
Waste time chasing the oasis
The oasis can chase me
On the horizon about to break through

The other side I arrive
Unrecognized but not new

Now I'm saying who is who
While society plays make believe
Tries transforming what is she
Mind's imposed upon left thirsty

An open scope prevents the choke
Range cuts through noose of bias rope

From this point, I dug deep
Found the well I'd rather drink
All the work gave me strength
Now I never fall for just anything

Blame It On the Alcohol

4 Dimensional girl
In a 3 dimensional world
I always feel out of sync
So I drink
Funny how wine
Makes me feel fine
Being in this world but not of it

Fast Lane

Life got so real so fast
And I've forgotten a lot of my past
But was reminded tonight
Of the innocence and light
I once had

Over the years too many fears
Met with too many tears
So I'm jaded, faded, and torn
With the fury of woman scorned

Everyday it's the same game
Russian roulette I play
One bullet in the chamber and spin
This ain't a way to live
It's dire straights

I hope I have the strength to open the gates
To freedom
Free to be a happy girl
Satisfied with her world
And who she see's in the mirror

Today it became a little clearer
Still don't know where I am
But I think I know where I'm going

Hold on
Hold on
Hold on
To this plan

Lost Boy

I don't understand why you still wait
Paste tense is a time I don't exist
I'm on to where I'm going
And I'm through with where I've been

You need to quit rehashing the past
And trying to draw me in
With quasi-attempts
To bait me in a fight
Boy, I've got better ways to spend my nights

The things you feel in love with
You hold against me now
I haven't changed
Still somehow you can't see
Your derision's got your vision blurry
Plus the company you keep
Has you wanting apologizes from me

I'm not a needy girl
This I thought you knew
But you keep calling with stupid questions
Acting all confused
I don't rely on others
To ensure my needs are met
Love is obviously a gamble
And I cover my bets

I have no regrets
With the course of action I chose
My time and attention
Is only given to those
That don't betray or stray
And you made your bed
So in it you're going to lay

At this point now, all I have to say is thanks
Because I've truly been rescued
From a life forever filed with days
Of being stuck with an incompatible mate
You were not really a partner
More like someone I had to raise

And I guess I should have known
How this would all go down
Because you weren't a man then
Why would you be now?

Sham Pillows

Wear the mask
Graffiti tunnel
Windy inside
Worse above

Pretty defaced message
Spray paint tired

Isolated crowd
Echoed shroud

Subjugated love
Tread enraged

Rotting beneath
Porcelain crown

Ever Lasting

Seek and ye shall find
But truth exists in the contrived
Concealed in the equation
There is no static explanation
Complicated theories created to define
What has always existed with or without your human mind
To perceive or try to grasp this intelligent design
We seek the architect, searching for the blueprints
But secrecy quite crucial to protect us from ourselves
You want to know, but if you know
You just signed your death sentence
Humans must have unanswered questions to explore
To solve the riddle of creation serves no purpose, will only bore
It must remain something that can't be figure out
It's mystery, not conclusions, appetite for more
Insatiable meditation, intellectual life support
Driven by curiosity to covet information
This never-ending story has no book of Revelation
We live in an expanding, infinite universe
We can't understand it, cause being mortal's a curse
Handicapped in finite, contradictory to forever
Apocalyptic scenarios are made up so we feel better
But there's really no such thing as the end of time
The universe is not subject to the doom of human kind
In fact it grows everyday like kudzu on the vine
Fear not, for you still have a great opportunity
To overcome death and reach immortality
Instead of a tombstone try leaving a legacy
And live in the minds of generations to come
They will all contemplate how you did what you done
