Inner Beauty

There she stood, high in her pink heels,
Everyone’s sight she steals,
Her feminine nature soaring high above all others,
For her beauty has surpassed all others.

Suddenly she feels her days growing dim,
A fear building up within,
Will what she has steal away her glamour,
She has feared all her life this terrible hour.

Like a phoenix she rises from the ashes so high,
As if reborn she soars up in the sky,
For she is undefeatable not even in this hour,
Not even a pink ribbon shall steal away her glamour.

She walks amongst us with her head upright,
She defeated her foe and regained her might,
For there she stands again in her pink heels so high,
For she knows her inner beauty shall never die.

There Was a Time

There was time when I thought you would be there forever,
When I thought you would be there for me when I needed you,
Yet I was wrong for time separated us and I had to let you walk your path.

Yet I wished to follow but I knew it was not my time,
So I had to give up and not look back,
But look forward carrying your memory with me in my every step.

Suddenly,
I realize that all that I know now is because of you,
That you were a guide placed by God for me,
To prepare me for my next step.

Yet,
How I wish you were there in my graduation,
How I wish you would be there next to me on my big day,
How I wish you would be there to carry your grandson the same way you carried
me when I was born.

Looking back at old pictures makes the tears come pouring down,
Seeing you looking up at me through the frame on the wall depresses me,
It reminds me of the time I wasted when I could have been there holding your hand.
Thinking of all this will remind me to hold up your name,
To see your judgment before my every step,
To understand your wisdom in all that you thought me.

Even though time has separated us physically,
You are there inside me burning brightly like a candle that’s light will never fade,
For I am the living part of you that will stand up to your morals,
For there was a time.

Mirror

Looking in the mirror he saw him looking up at him,
The innocence in his eyes shining bright,
His untarnished soul dancing with its shimmering light,
Angelic was a poor description of him.

A closer glimpse and a familiar face he seemed,
Perhaps from a long lost memory or a reminiscence of a dream,
That smile of his somewhat familiar it would seem,
Is this all real or has he dozed off and dreamed?

He gives him a closer look to speculate,
Who his mystery visitor in the mirror might be,
Alas could it be that he's been so blind to see,
His childhood conscience yet it's far too late.

A blink of an eye, the child is gone,
The tables have turned and he sees him,
The truth released from its prison within,
Like an arrow to his heart shattering that stone.

Looking in the mirror he saw him looking up at him,
Yet something has changed, this place is eerie and dim,
A wretched ghoul is remnants of the soul wheezing within,
For the child is has gone, banished within.

Forbidden Love

I wake up thinking off you from the time I open my eyes till the time I shut them,
You’ve taken over me, binding me with chains that I can’t break through,
I feel I’m in a dream that I can’t wake up from,
I long to let go of you, but that would only crush me.

I see you everywhere I go,
Like a shadow the thought of you follows me,
I crave to get closer to you yet I know that our love is forbidden,
I must wake up from this dream and declare my forbidden love, before I lose my
mind completely.

I see you pass by me every day,
The most beautiful visage I have ever seen,
Your looks alone make me wonder whether I’m in heaven,
Or you’re just an angel that lives among us.

The mere sight of you makes my darkest day seem like a lost memory,
Your scent makes me sway into slumber I don’t want to wake up from,
Your voice rings in my head like a mystical instrument trying to entrance me,
You make me want to live inception and never come out.

Trying to let go of you makes me desire you even more,
Forcing me to walk a path with a dead end,
I’ve lost my mind completely; I can’t live without you any longer,
I shall declare our forbidden love to the world.

I’ve finally woken up from this dream,
I’ve broken the chains that your love had bound me with,
I’m a free man with a voice to declare his forbidden love,
But shall you accept it my dear?

Drowning in a whirlpool of emotions,
With my warm tears and the sounds of my screams to accompany me,
I’ve fallen back into the dream, but this time you’re not with me,
For you’ve shattered me into pieces, piercing me with a blunt knife the day you took
my love and turned it into a joke.

Love At Sunset

It was near sunset, everything was perfect for her,
The sun was laying a gentle kiss on the tip of the ocean,
The sea sparkled like diamonds in the reflection of the sun,
Everything was perfect, awaiting her arrival.

The wind envying me for such a day it would take a hurricane to destroy it,
Yet God graciously gave me a loving breeze to complete his work of art,
Finally she graced us by her presence; at last my princess has arrived,
I longed to see her in that glowing white dress.

As she walked towards me, the sun glistened on her tan revealing Gods beauty,
The dress skimmed down her slender body blowing my mind out,
She walked so delicately on the sand, that she seemed as if she was flying,
When she reached in front of me she just smiled, but in a way I had never seen
before.

Her smile filled me with joy, warmth and love,
All I wanted to do right now was taker her in my arms and never let go,
I took a courageous step, stepped forward and gently kissed her forehead,
My heart beat faster than it had ever done.

She smiled at me and took my hand,
She said don’t worry I will always be right here by your side,
I looked deep into her twinkling eyes, before I got lost in them,
I told her I love you, but I didn’t get the chance to hear her answer

Forgotten

Slowly it slips away from sight forgotten into the shadows,
It watches from the darkness how the world still moves on without it,
All of them too busy with their lives to realize,
Something is lost from their lives

How has it come to this?
That this being lives amongst us unnoticed?
Do they know of its existence?
Or is it forgotten on purpose?

For once “it” was a he or a she but definitely one of them,
He was once popular amongst them for he was their friend,
Part of their daily lives and part of their society,
He mattered to them like they did to him.

They were close, a team, one family,
But time drifted them physically apart,
Will they remember him?
Or forget him like the rest?

He tries to remain with them through virtual reach,
But he slowly slips from mind and thought,
He’s now no longer part of them,
Only someone they once knew.

Even when time rejoins them,
He’s no longer good enough for them,
He‘s no longer of use to them, no longer a part of them,
Slowly it slips into the shadows, watching knowing where it now belongs.

It Was Time

Finally it was time; the awaited day had arrived,
The church looked like a heavenly kingdom,
Decorated to complement the royal wedding,
The calla lilies adding their harmonic touch,
Candles altering the mood into a romantic gesture,
It was perfect except the centerpiece was missing.

A blinding flash of light came in as the church doors opened,
There stood my queen in her white dress,
Silence echoed the church at her entrance,
All I could hear was my heart beats increasing rhythm,
She glided in towards me with her dress carving her slender body,
She took hold of my outstretched hand, sending impulses running through my body.

Staring each other in the eye for what felt like hours,
Only to be interrupted by the vicar who received unpleasant looks from the couple,
He began to preach yet no human words could describe the love in that room,
Cupid himself started to get jealous of our love,
It seemed like we could spend the rest of our lives staring at each other holding hands,
Then the moment we both feared and anticipated finally came,
For soon we would truly be one united through love and soul.

Do You Remember

Remember those days when we used to sit for hours and talk my dear?
Remember those everlasting nights when we just used to stare at each other my dear?
Remember those evenings when we used to take our long walks on the beach my dear?
Remember those days my dear?

I remember the days when all we wanted to do was be together,
I remember the days when all we wanted to do was be there for each other,
I remember the days when all we did was reminisce our childhood memories,
I remember those days my dear.

But that was a long time ago my dear,
I barely know who we are anymore,
I’ve lost my sight of what it was that I saw in us,
I’m beginning to feel your warmth leave me my dear.

I really wish you were still here close to me,
I really wish you still knew how much I love you,
I really wish you knew how much you mean to me,
I really wish you’ll come back to me my dear.

Why did we change my dear?
Why is there a block of ice forming between us?
Why have we lost everything we had in common?
Why are walking two different paths now my dear?

How I wish we could go back to the way we were,
The time when I knew you were the perfect one for me,
The time when we knew nothing could separate us,
Do you remember those days my dear?

Why

Why is it that every time I see you, I’m lost for words?
Why is it that every time I see you my heart rages like a trapped monster that
wants to get out?
Why is it that every time I see you I begin to tremble and my hands begin to freeze?
Why is it that every time I see you I feel the blood rushing through my veins like a
raging river?

Could it be because of the strange phenomenon called love?
Could it be because you are the most beautiful thing I have ever seen?
Could it be because with you I begin to feel self conscience towards my appearance?
Could it be because you are the one thing that makes me feel alive again?

Every time I touch your soft skin I feel alive again,
Every time I see your angelic face I feel my life has a purpose again,
Every time I hear your voice I hear it ringing in my mind like a song composed
especially for me,
Every time I dream of you I wish I would never wake up.

Yet if only you knew of what was inside me,
If you could only read my mind and understand what I felt,
If you could just see my sight of the future I imagine us having together,
I’m sure you would come running into my arms which would be wide open awaiting
you.

Broken Heart

So this is how it feels, to walk around carrying a broken heart,
Trying to drag yourself while your broken heart anchors you to the ground,
Why would you do such a thing to a someone?
Could it be out of hatred or is it the causality of love?

I was ready to give you everything,
My love, my time, myself,
But I guess you found it better to destroy me,
And walk victorious over my ruins and call it just a joke.

Am I that meaningless and despicable that I deserved all of this from you?
Or was it all a game for you to test how long I would stand your torment?
I truly am sorry that I wasn’t a real challenge for you,
For you ruined me with your first lash at me.

I was ready to make your life a living paradise,
A heaven down on earth with me,
But I guess it wasn’t meant for us to be,
For our perception did not meet.

Therefore you broke me,
You made me love you and bound me with a leash,
So that once I began to see the truth and stray away,
You would pull me back and strike at my emotions.

I really felt we could have been great together,
But you truly proved me wrong,
Hopefully I’ve learnt my lesson now,
Not to be this naive next time.
