The Problems With Love

When love turns sour, your left without hope.
When our hearts are broken,
They aren't easily mended.

Your heart will be torn and frayed.
The ones you once loved will
Humiliate you in the worst ways.
They will fill you with agony and tears,
But, before the agony, comes the anger.
You feel betrayed and devastated.
They will disable you of all defenses,
Because that person was the one you trusted.
You told them your secrets and heart's greatest desires.
But, when you realize the ulterior motive,
The reason they were in your life in the first place,
You are ashamed of yourself for being naive.

So, because you won't allow yourself to be hurt again,
You know you'll never be able to be with them.
But...You'll still regret all those stupid fights,
And you'll still laugh at all the silly jokes.
You'll remember the good times and the bad,
And thank God for the time you had.

If Only For the Moment

Sometimes we allow our emotions
To take precedence to instinct,
Allowing feelings
To overcome common sense,
If only for the moment...

We let ourselves get swept away
By the waves of Deception...
Not Feeling, not being,
Not even living in reality,
If only for the moment...

Sometimes it's better...
Not to feel, to be untouchable,
Unreachable, unreliable,
With no responsibilities,
If only for the moment...

Riding on the tides of pure happiness...
Knowing subconsciously, it won't last
But rectifying still,
In the glorious feeling of immortality,
If only for the moment...

But as we come out of our shell of resilience,
And step away form our immaculate imagination,
We know we will never exist more peacefully,
Than in our world apart from rationalization,
If only for the moment...

Coming our of our state of mind is troubling,
We feel deflated, defeated and desperate,
Willing to cling to any piece of our former self,
Even the bad habits are comforting for their familiar aspects,
If only for the moment...

We no longer know what to think,
What to believe, hear or see,
It's as if everyone is staring at you,
Waiting for you to screw your life up,
If only for the moment...

Is that why we walk with our heads down?
Is that why we won't make eye contact,
Because we aren't comfortable
In the real of Reality?
If only for the moment...

But we must carry on still, must socialize, must communicate,
Live among our peers in the midst of the real world,
We must face the reality of the terrible human race around us because...
It's only for the Moment.

Story Telling

It was troubling,
That is memorizing.

Think, thought
Write, blot.

Something, nothing
Come on anything.

Sentence structure
Get's me flustered.

Character-Plot
Think and Thought.

Smile, stand straight,
Don't twitter or flutter.

Speak, talk,
Knees unlock.

Succeed, destroy, forgive,
If it's not over soon, I won't live.

Look around
Don't space out

My face is red,
So I stare instead

Don't shake or quiver,
Just speak and deliver

Done-Great,
My feelings relate.

I Am Me

I am Wonderful
I am me
I am what I am
Because I can be
I like me and I love me
And who I want to be is me
I'm strong and smart
And have a giving heart
I don't lie but sometimes try
I Live and learn through hope and courage
I fight and argue and I love Barbeque
I'm athletic but sometimes feel pathetic
What I say to you is my opinion and won't be forgiven
Because I am me and that's who I want to be.

Deadly Decisions

If I were alive,
I may be dead.
But death will come,
And shall be fed...

If I were to choose
Something for myself,
I would choose wisely,
In honor of someone else...

Does it make me right?
Does it make me strong?
If I'm right,
Will you be wrong?

Government

Our government is said to be the best,
I think I may put that to the test.
We let young future mothers kill
Their unborn children.
We have laws against murder but,
We also have "Legal" murder.
No adult child or other wise would
Be legally killed before their living life is up.
But, we can't say the same for our unborn.
They could cure cancer, or AIDS,
Or be our next President.
But they will never be given the chance
Because they will be dead before
They were given a chance to live.
Everyday a child is forgotten,
Abused or abandoned.
Everyday a woman is struck
by her husband.
Everyday the elderly have to decide
between food and medication.
Everyday there are reports of:
Dead beat Dads,
Messed up Moms,
Crooked Cops and
Kidnapped Kids.
Life is good with our
government but,
it is not without flaw.
