Jeffrey Shover Poem
Flowing freely your ebony hair
like the night sky
scattering fragrance
my heart clamoring in my chest
like a storm you triffle with it
your pristine glance
like a feast when you smile
my thoughts disturbed
my breath like opium
it drives me mad

Jeffrey Shover Poem
I still have alot to think about in my life and everything
but today i think was good
for me at least
I wrote a blog and realized...... i am a great personIi am caring loving thoughtful I
and am always thinking about others
usually more then myself
I have my flaws yes... but i have a big heart
and i think thats really important
im lookin for a job next tuesday
I found myself (somewhat)
I just hope it all gets better
I do have great things in my life that i am
very grateful for i cry alot but i smile
my heart may be breaking all the time
but it never stops loving and giving
im going to be the best i can
and by doing that im going to be me
im going to try to stay positive all the time
I know it wont happen but at least im trying....
im going to focus on myself
marriage can wait
kids can wait
but poetry makes me happy
so im going to be into it as much as possible
ill stress about it
no i dont like my looks
and no i dont think ill ever go anywhere in life
but it never hurts to try right
its important to focus on yourself i think because focusin on yourself just might save
your life
because focusing on yourself is like fighting for something really important
so..
im off to find myself
Cause love is just that much better when your actually there

Jeffrey Shover Poem
like a migrant thai worker
i pedal my bicycle on the
village path hunched over
dark my face covered against
the dust the dogs bark at me
the bees slammed into my forehead
and the scent of a distant homeland
assault my nostrils and like his letters
back home
silverplating the sweat of his brow
my poems two are wrapped in darkness
that covers my longing

Jeffrey Shover Poem
get a grip im expected to succeed
face fear be strong take the lead
not hesitate in thought of deed
my mask must never slip
man up,keep my thoughts inside
no one can know how much i cried
when the rockets came and the fear arrived
my mask must never slip
crack on theres no time to reflect or admit
that i did genuflect and prayed to god
me to protect ,
my mask must never slip
chin up worry not bout how i feel
never let them know just how surreal
it was dark thoughts i cannot reveal
my mask must never slip

Jeffrey Shover Poem
i walk down the street
and stop at the bus stop
i post one of my poems for all to see
;what do you think of me;
;am i freak or am i oh so cool;
;dressed in black am i tiger or a pussycat;
am i scary or am i normal?
read my words and you will see
the deeper soul burns within me
my heart starts to bleed
i sit at home
paint my self portrait
i skip down to the art gallery
as the rain smacks against the concrete
i post my portrait at the entrance door
do you want more
you can see more reality in this piece
than anything that lies beyond this door
i sit on the floor
waiting for your reaction
your eyes are pickin me apart
painfully
slowly
the passers fail by emotion
too wrapped up in thier days
in God and man we shall trust
for our tides are too wrapped in darkness

Jeffrey Shover Poem
robbed of pride and free will swallowing that bitter pill
lessons in patience and humility nothing prison can do for me
will ever dimminish my divinity
knowing such truth i strive and s
survive keeping the flame within my heart
alive
lest i should hunger wither die...
Robbed.

Jeffrey Shover Poem
do away with medals
and remembrence parades
those boys were brave
we know but look at where
it got them
reduced to line after perfect line
of white stones
immobile
glorious
exciting
to kids who havent yet learned
that bullets dont make little red holes
they
rip
smash
gouge
and drag the worlds dirt behind them
remember lads you wont get laid
no matter how good your war stories
if your dead so
melt down the medals
fuel the fire with
paper poppies
war books
And arnie films stop playin with the pipes
banging with drums
and stop writing
poems about it

Jeffrey Shover Poem
This life we live in, is a never ending dream.
It's not what it seems, it's not what it seems.
Consciousness gliding, when pains all but subsiding.
Cognition of the decisions we've taken and weaved.
Quick, swift and slick, resolution sets in.
The calm settles in. The calm settles in.
Tides of rest are flowing, my heart's pound is going.
Ambition is winning, and a new start to begin.
