Maureen Timmins Poem
SQUADRON LEADER 945017
I was paralyzed with fear as I heard footsteps draw near
Perspiration running down my cheek
Fingers trembled, heartbeats so clear
Panic stricken and feeling very weak
Mentally fascinated at what I would see
I visualized many strange events
Exhausted now, wondering what this thing could be
Is it my imagination that is bent?
“I’m a Squadron Leader in the RAF 945017
the postmortem showed I died a natural death
but there isn’t any room for me in heaven.”
“It’s essential that I stay, please don’t turn me away
Let us be acquaintances and friends
I’ll guide you and protect you, no need to question why
Then we’ll be together in the end.

PROGRESS
A plastic sun, paper moon, painted sky of blue
End will come very soon no matter what we do
Manmade plants, not so nice but real ones never grow
Have a go toss the dice, one above and six below
Odds all fall against you, no one wins today
Some try but only just a few, yet no one gets their way
Our world is no use anymore even man can be replaced
In time the human substitute will be a brand new metal race

Maureen Timmins Poem
ENDLESS LOVE
I’ve asked myself a thousand times why do I love you so much?
The power and strength you have over me I reflect in every touch
To see you brings joy to my heart, I’m like a child at play
Yet in the very back of mind hides a fear it’ll all end one day
I convince myself that one day our lives will then entwine
It will have been a long journey but worth it if you are then mine
A heart is not a big thing until it’s full of love
Then everything fits into place like a hand into a glove
I have been fond of others but no one quite like you
To set my heart and passion burning so little you need to do
Just kiss me and I travel into my world of dreams
Where I am yours and you are mine and nothings as it seems
If wishes still were possible as sometimes they can be
I’d wish that I could be with you for all eternity
Although I am forgetting your views upon this love
Do you wish to live your life like a hand inside a glove?
Everything just perfect, no rows and nothing wrong
To live a life of perfection you really must be strong
Please don’t think I doubt you, you swore your love for me
Upon the grave of someone close so finally I would see
What bothers me my darling is will our love survive
The many years we have apart or will this make it thrive?
I pray it will get stronger to live on after we’re gone
Just like a star in heaven has shone and shone and shone
Whatever happens darling you’re engraved upon my soul
If you took a knife and killed me it would still remain a whole
I see in you just goodness you can do nothing wrong
I’d love a life of perfection for that I could be strong
The light is growing dim now it’s time for me to leave
My love for you will carry on for as long as people breathe
That’s meant to be forever, time without an end
I love you very very much my lover and my friend.

Maureen Timmins Poem
IS THE END NEAR?
This civilization resourceful and strong, disrupt and destroy as they go along
Scientist’s try very hard to get by, hysteria still brings a scream to the sky
A ceremony performed to bury our dead, savagely killed or died in their beds
Anxiety makes us aware of all things; even the birds can’t be bothered to sing
This dilemma will pass but what will it leave?
A man with the answer tucked up his sleeve.
No furnace, no boilers and no one alive, is our civilization doomed soon to die?

Maureen Timmins Poem
WHAT IS HATE?
What is Hate?
A word with hidden meanings
An emotion that gets out of hand
A feeling each has experienced
Plaguing all of this land.
Why do we Hate?
To cover up disappointment
To hurt someone we know
A feeling eating at us
Yet eating very slow.
What is Hate?
The start of all mans troubles
Fighting to prove point of view
Using hate to survive upon
But stop it’s killing you
Why not Love?
Be gentle kind and true
Try it then you’ll be surprised
How love will alter you.

Maureen Timmins Poem
MAN DESTROYED
See how green a leaf can grow as it tries so hard to be
And all the other seeds we sow will only die you see
See how tall your son has got from boy to adult man
Then he dies the body rots understand that if you can
See our world we’ve let it die from beauty to despair
No more fluffy clouds on high just thick polluted air
See yourself you are to blame, you tired too hard to rule
To our world you put a flame and used it as your fuel

Maureen Timmins Poem
THE END
A small flame flickers in the darkness, a candle held up high
All around no motion, but no one questions why?
Am I all alone now? There must be someone here
The flame flickers so madly, the end I feel is near
One bomb was all they’d planned on explode then sit and wait
End of life, as we know it, destroyed by greed and hate
The flame is growing dim now, I know I’m all alone
Hate has overcome us, turned our love to stone
Darkness all around me, I’ll never find out why
My fellow human beings allowed this earth to die.

Maureen Timmins Poem
LIFE
Pleasant dreams of all I love, thoughts descending from above
Rising passion fills me so, also hate from down below
These together make up life, thought sand feelings, wrong and right
Guide me over life’s pathway in and out of each coming day
Minutes come and hours go, days and years, above, below
All this world is lessons taught, winning every fight that’s fought
End will come and we will die, not ever understanding why!
