Stolen Lives

They robbed us of our jewels and made us poor
Our souls are dying as we spend eternity locked in their cages
The government threw away our key, shutting sunlight away
From us: yet giving us darkness
Some of us hear our young bloods crying
Yet when we reach out, it was only a faint image
We see what's not there, and want what we've left behind
The days are stretching as far as the Mississippi River
And we search for something, something that a lot of our past
Brothers searched for, but without luck
They remain blinded by the wrong path they follow, being in
Control of the Devil that drown them into the dark world
However, the things I search for are the Truth, Hope, and Forgiveness
I have learned that the Truth is God, the Truth is the right
Way into God's embrace, that so, we'll be forgiven, given hope
And have an everlasting life
'Cause the justice system we have now, I don't agree with it
I will exercise justice in walking with God
I will exercise justice in getting out of the cycle
I will exercise justice by saving lives, teaching and leading others
These people judge us because of our race, heritage, and culture
But one judge I will stand before when the time comes is God
Till the end of this story comes, I will sit in this empty cell
Not reminiscing, but praying to the only [true] God for
No more stolen lives

My Boo

My mind is being clouded with memories of you
From recalling our conversations over and over in my head
I even find it difficult to fall asleep
Cause I'm just laying here
Thinking of you, boo

Hearing your voice satisfies me
But I'll rather be laying in your arms
Yeah, that's right
Just you and me together, boo
I want to make something happen, you see
Everything I'm saying, listen clear, it's all true

You're the type of boy I want
This strong desire is running wild
I want to be your one and only, boo
I'm here, tell me what you want
Cause I'll be the one to always treat you right
And if not, I won't lose you without a fight

Days, weeks, and months are passing by
And we're one step closer to winning each other's heart, boo
I want to know you inside and out
To know your identity, to know what you're about

I pour my secret feelings into you
And everything's been so good so far, boo
I may be shy, but nothing's going to be held back
Not no more, at least, let's keep everything on track

We're keeping it real
There's no playing games
Everything's cool
Everything's coming from the heart
So boo, let me know how you feel

Boy

Filling this boy's soul
With my secret feelings
The one I can tell everything to
Without feeling let down
He's the one I've found
I hope he will remain close by
Always in my heart
And I want him to be the one to say
Everything will be ok
When I feel like hiding in a dark hole

So understanding
Feels me up with so much loving
Glad he can be who he is
But most of all, found something special about me
This boy is different from all of the others
He invades my mind more than ever
It's just something about him
That causes my liking for him to grow stronger
The way he feels my day with joy and laughter
The way he cares about me warms my heart every time

This boy is the one I want to share my life with
Fill him in every detail
Let him know my thoughts and feelings
That others don't know about
This boy, I want to be able to count on
We have this strong faith for one another
This unbreakable bond
To form this long-lasting love for each other
Over protective, yes
But you're the one that's loving me for real, boy
