This One Child

This one child, left alone in the world. No one to care for him. No one to love him.
Happiness has yet to come for him. It’s out there but it just hasn’t come back to him.
Like when you are lost in the dark looking for the light switch. Someone just has to light
up this boy’s life.

This boy, once had a family. A father, a mother, a sister, and his own pets. He lived
peacefully, with his loving family. As happy as could be. Always had the greatest smile.
Nothing ever brought him down. Until that one night. He was walking home from a friend’s
house after playing and heard the fire and police sirens crying over the rooftops. He
noticed that the police cars and fire trucks were all going in the same direction he was.
But he didn’t pay any attention to it, until he got home. When he arrived home, there were
police barricades set up around the house and water shooting towards the house. The fire
men were trying to put out the fire. But it was no use; the fire engulfed the house in
flames and just ate it whole. The boy came to learn that the fire place had caught some
clothing on fire and it spread throughout the house. His family was in the basement as it
happened and never had a chance of escaping. Everyone said that if they were even able to
make it to the basement door leading to the kitchen, they would have suffocated from the
thickened air.

Jake was taken in by a foster home but was bounced to a new foster home every couple of
months. He finally came up with the decision to just run away from it all. Start anew.
Travel to new lands of where he heard happiness was always around. Where sorrow could not
bring anyone down. But he was never able to make it to a place such as this.

He did manage to make it to a new place, away from where the tragedy had happened. But
this place was far worse. No one was ever happy, always sad and upset. Always making
people feel like they are nothing. I wish to inform you that for this one boy there was no
happy ending, only a happy beginning. This boy, who I never got to learn his name, met her
and was never seen again.

Broken

Everyone loves.

When love ends, we’re heartbroken.

When we work up the courage to love again,

The same thing happens, heartbroken.

We give people our trust,

Just so we end up heartbroken.

But if we don’t trust, no one trusts back.

Meaning no one cares, leaving us heartbroken.

The scars always reminding you,

Of who left you heartbroken.

One day we will know what it’s like,

To be nevermore heartbroken.

But Why?

Everyone, so mad. Mad at me. Mad for not speaking but when I do, no one listens. No one
cares. What’s wrong with us? Why can’t we listen, why can’t we speak? Blaming me, for the
things I’ve done. Admitting to what I’ve done, they still blame me. “I’m sorry!” I yell.
I’m sorry for hurting you, for not believing, for lying. I’m sorry for it all, why won’t
you listen to me! I mean it all, I mean it. Why do you have to do this? Why do you have to
hurt me more than I’ve hurt you? Can’t you see the regret in my eyes, in my tears? Can’t
you hear it in my voice when I say “I’m sorry”? I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry. Won’t
someone believe me? What about you? Won’t you at least believe me? No? But why?

How many times must a man say he is sorry until the pain stops? How many times must he
shed tears for the regret and guilt he feels? Maybe one day society won’t judge you for
your past, but rather how you plan to live the future. Maybe one day we will all find
someone we truly love. Maybe one day the past will become changeable, then maybe we will
all get the second chance we all pray for. Maybe, just maybe one day my wishes will come true.

Feeling So Cold

Feeling so cold. Love being split? It can’t happen like that. Her and I, then Him off
to the side. Soon him and I will switch places, but she will stay the same. Him has loved
her all along, but I have loved her all along too. She says she doesn’t like Him, but I
know there’s a glimmer of hope. Soon Her and Him will be happy and I will be nowhere to be
seen. Him and Her laughing, smiling, loving, I dying, suffering, missing. They say love
lasts forever, then why have I lost it? Where love once was in I’s heart, it was replaced
by cold blackness. Love only lasts as long as the two want it…Her didn’t want it to last
that long, and yet I did.

Her and Him holding hands, I just hold the empty hole where my heart used to be.

The Clearing

A son, lost in the darkness, wandering and wondering where has his father gone? Nothing
ahead of him, behind him, or to the sides of him. Where has everyone gone? Blackness is
all that can be seen. After years of searching he finally finds someone. He finds….her.
The darkness is gone now. Everything is bright and clear. Happiness sweeps across him. He
forgets about everything he has ever known. He now knows that he only has to look ahead of
him, not what is now behind him. He now looks forward to the future. He knows that no
matter what happens he can always turn back to her and forget his pains and worries. As
long as she is around, his world can never end. His searching, is over. Dreaming and
waiting for what lies ahead of him.

He was blind until she came along and cleared away the fog. Making the sun shine and
the rain stop. Making all things scary beautiful again.

But he stops and wonders how would his life be without her? Would he still be trapped
in the darkness with no one there with him? Would he still be wandering around, searching?
Still looking back instead of ahead of him? He realizes that yes he would still be
trapped. He would still be searching. Still looking back instead of ahead. He sees the
difference one person can make in someone’s life. They can completely change a life
around. Make it worse, but it his case he was lucky, she made his better.

But what happens when she leaves? Will things stay the same or go back to being the way
they were? Will he see her again? Will she see him again? What will become of this
fantastic world when all the happiness leaves? Sorrow, sadness, and remorse will creep
into his world. Taking away all that is great. He wants her to stay. To never leave. Never
go away. But how can he make this happen? How? He can only think of one way…

“I Love You.”
