Night of Awakening

I fear the night
Never to wake in mornings light
To see your face one last time
To hear your voice that is so divine
Reaching out to touch your hand
You entwine our fingers and understand
With love as strong as ours, it's hard to say goodbye
We wipe a tear from each others eye
Slipping into the endless dark
An adventure I must embark
Waking in mornings light
Knowing it was just a dream, everything is alright
Forever together we will be
Forever and Ever, you and me

Cracked, Broken, Truth

Getting treated like crap
Like trash
Feel less than normal
Abnormal, paranormal
Careless chatter in an empty room
Space of eternal gloom
Cracked, broken, shattered
Under pressure, antimatter
Paralyzed and scared
Afraid and unprepared
Less than right, more than wrong
Words that bring you down, not strong
Not enough to help you through
Everything said, true and untrue
A great leap of faith to make you fly high
Into the sky, you dream and cry
Lose your mind, being treated so poorly
Things said, sorely demised

Letting Her Go

Fear runs through her entire body,
As she takes the dagger from her boyfriends case.
She quietly walks through the kitchen,
Writing a note telling him everything will be okay.

The open door lets in a cold winter breeze,
Her bare feet sinks deep into the snow.
She kneels on the ground holding the dagger in her hand,
And she thrusts it into her chest nice and slow.

The pain is excruciating but she keeps on going,
She feels the blood run down her fingers,
As she fights blacking out,
The dark begins to linger.

Her mind was made up,
But now she made the mistake,
She left her love behind,
She’s fighting to say awake.
She opened her eyes as wide as she could,
To look up into the face of her love,
He felt the warmth of her blood.

He carried her to the car,
And drove as fast as he possibly could,
Arrived at the hospital,
With thought he misunderstood.

“Why would she take her life,
She knows I love her so,
I never thought this day would come,
The day I had to let her go.”

"the Ataratic Tempest"

The passion that comes
When greeted by a storm
Is nothing I can explain
The rain, wind, thunder, and lightning
Sends a frenzy of shivers through my body
Making my every nerve numb
As the light flickers
And the thunder claps
I can feel my heart beat faster
The rain on the roof
Like a drum
Sends my body in a rhythmic dance
The wind is my partner
As I float around
Above the ground
Leaving my worries behind

The Real World

Ready for life
Step out of the shelter
Exposed to the dangers
Lurking under cover
Patiently waiting
Taking you down
One single swoop
And you're on the ground
Words hurt more than action
But to defend you must fight
Believe in yourself
Don't believe in the lies
"Look before you leap"
As the old saying goes
Everything has its consequences
Which I'm sure you know
Live, love, take care, and be careful
Live the life you've dreamed
Anything else could be dreadful

Shadows

Deafening silence,
Roaring whispers,
Just within earshot.
Telling stories,
Asking questions,
About what is and is not.
Frantically jumping,
Back and forth,
Looking for answers.
Feeling surrounded,
Feeling scared,
Stuck in a circle of shadows.
Darkness sunk,
Within the cracks,
No sign of hope.
Needing to break,
Wanting to scream,
Find some way to cope.
Aspirations,
Exceeding the limit,
The cracks spread farther apart,
And all is lost,
In the shadows of the unknown.

Her Tango

She took one step toward bravery and was overwhelmed by fear
Couldn't breath, couldn't talk, couldn't think
She forbade herself to fall towards a terribly deceiving punishment
Cast out, banished, thrown out with mercy on her soul
She hung her head low as the fog fell around her
Deceit, the feeling of defeat, she is a lying, cheating mongrel
She is cast aside, an outsider, never to set foot among the superiors
Beaten down into her own guilt, never able to fully forget
She is constantly being reminded of a lesser time
Of a time when all has failed and regret has set in
She reaches for the light that she once saw in the distance
Hoping for capture its warmth, to heal the pain reeling inside
She feels an emptiness, a black hole, dwelling within
It eats away at her emotions, always hungry for more
She fights for her life, afraid of giving in
Never fully in, never fully out
She is constantly on the edge
Running, fighting, reaching, healing

Fate of Death

The ruffling of feathers,
And the snap of a beak,
The quick tempered woman,
Jumped back to her feet.
She soars over water,
Looking sharp for her prey,
With one on little movement,
She sees where it lays.
Down like a bomb,
She dives under waves,
She catches a fish,
Sends him to his grave.
She gobbles him up,
Like a wolf on a rabbit,
But his friends from the sea,
Just wouldn’t have it.
They jumped up to the sun,
And drug her to her fate,
Drown her in the water,
Where she caught her bait.
Now there is no reason to be afraid,
Of that quick tempered woman,
She is swimming with the fishes,
She got what was her fate.

Photograph

Perfectly poised
To take the photo
Steady hands
Snap the still
A moment in time
Forever frozen
Hung on display
A proud prize
For all to see
The memory still fresh
Hidden inside
The warmth that came
Being surrounded by the flash
Lingers on
Invasive thoughts
Roam the memory
Hung in view

The Pain In the End

Drowning in your tears
From all the wasted years
When you opened up your mind
To see what you could find
But ended up getting lost
And collapsing from exhaust
Never healing the pain
Eventually going insane
Learning the truth never fails
When there is a fork on the trail
Looking to the bright side of things
And everything that life brings
Kicking you to the ground
The feeling that is renowned
Failing to take control
Not knowing your own soul
Losing ones identity
Wishing for serenity
Losing faith, losing hope
Feeling like there is no way to cope
with the pain, and the hurt
So low you feel like dirt
Craving for that peace of mind
For someone to please be kind
Give in, be free
Just like that famous decree
There is no way to fully understand
What God has eternally planned
For all of humanity
Living with vanity
Roaming forever to wonder
What is left for us down under
Before the heavens open wide
The day that everyone dies
