Empty

I feel no shame
I feel no remorse
For the choices made, and the road not taken

I cannot go back
And undo time
But if I could, I would make you mine

Things have gone too far now
It is time to stop
What once was love has now grown cold

I feel nothing now
No sorrow or shame
You made me unfeeling, you made me numb

To love once again
Is my greatest desire
But my heart will not try for fear of failure

It seems impossible
To love again
I have no emotion left, I just feel empty

Change

I look into your eyes and find
Two different people staring back at me
I liked the man you used to be
The kind and caring trustworthy one

I see only a glimpse of that one now
You have changed in ways I cannot understand
Experiences in life have left you empty and cold
Our chance for love has come to pass

The man I loved left long ago
I sometimes wonder - where did that person go
In time he disappeared and with him went my love
My sadness deepens each time I look into your eyes

For now you are the unfaithful type
And choose to run at any sign of a relationship
You are weak and scared of commitment
I despise the new person I see in you

Do you ever stop to think about the loves you lost
Or the people you hurt through your unfaithfulness
Love and anger overcome me as I think of you
But most of all, I just miss the man you used to be

I guess it's true that people change

Thoughts

Lying in another's arms, my thoughts drift back to you
There is truly no one else who makes me feel like you do
I miss your smile, I miss your touch
The way you loved me and gave so much
You're in my heart, you're in my head
And everywhere I go

Lost in thought, reality slips away
My mind drifts back to warmer days
When things of this world were not so cold
I feel empty without you here
I am not sure how to carry on
It hurts too much to love again
This ever-present heartache refuses to end

I've tasted love to its fullest extent
Only bitterness and anger remain
I wander through this life unfulfulled
Where did my hope and inspiration go
It left me when you went away
There will never be another like you
