One Hot August Day

August....shaky, tremulous
sizzling, transitory, mysterious
moons in August slap you, do not love you.
August..mighty...forward...unafraid
change is a food for the gods, for my little self.
Gone. Each freshness reaches a peak.
Every counting of wildflowers ends.
Count the berries on mountain ashberry.
Each little bird friend...each little seed
Will we survive the winter?
Fall is five minutes long.
Hence, my love.
Born in August
explains a dilemma
I never figured.
Neither here, there
Ah, this then is a good thing.
Your smile graces a leap.

What

What happened?
First the trustful child
the age of reason
one last grip on innocence
why is god so hard to hold...
what happened between the time?
I felt the onset of becoming another being
caught in some adult trap...I knew
the minute I joined this human race
a pall of unreason would enter.

Hey.

What is this thing over my head?
What alerted me to this wing span...
and why do I long to fly with you?

Blue heron, you do not sink
you amaze my very eyes
I, rise to reach you.

And here you are, me too.
and some cursed ghost makes three.
Well...I liked the hair on your arms.
You liked my dark eyes.

At some invincible point.
all is gone. Done.
One fact though, mother
could sing Leonard Cohen.
Hah.

Tired

So tired.
cannot lift a foot.
an eyelid, both
came down.
honey...rescue me
save me from myself.
I forgot that all is well.

Wait

Until a drop of avalanche becomes a force
you do not contend
stand aside, move over
come back, witness some ravaging
that has a beauty beyond what you thought
you knew...prescribed personal knowledge.

Wait until I understand why
I knew I loved you.
You were quiet, one arm
over your eyes. Serene

Then...wait..I will join you
in an ether world..here
is nothing but a wait
When I join you
We welcome every single baby.

That was you and I.

Available

With your frontal attack
I retreated to silence
which resounds..in every heaven

I chewed my own foot pretty good
before it achieved ..my mouth

With this mighty struggle came release.
I have learned to live.

I am ready to hold myself near
your outline...I am ready
to battle only when necessary.

Here

looking back on here
is never there
are the moments
defining your eyes.
and here is everywhere
I have been since there.
Every history knows
a moment we stood
naked, vulnerable
here, there, some people
would say nowhere.
I know differently
In my grasping
of your existence
I was always pretty darn near...
here.

Characters

Was the woman who sent me
into this...to meet some man
who came with the scenario
is the teacher who zapped
into my love of language
which never made sense
in plain writing, to a man
another one, there were many
who stilled me for awhile.
on the edge, the perephiry
were all of the many
who ruled my destiny
class them..the boss,
the banker, the power mongerers
they are all the same.
whirling about in a cacaphony
of insensibile destiny...but
here you came...I want you to go back.
So, you can't. I can't.
Let me live in the freedom
of loving you...my child.
Hey, not to be forgotten
the power of forgetting.
The ache and pain of self.
Stopped. Find your self, child
I friggen well will be there...
