Alone

Here I am all alone, yet surrounded by love
The emptiness clouds my thoughts
I sat pondering the day to come
Where am I? who will find me? I’m lost
I’m lost in this jungle desperate for freedom
Smothering suffocating longing for joy
But it does not find me.
The roots begin to take me over
I’m no longer here. Where am I?
Perhaps drowning in the flood of ones own sorrow
Who sees me, who knows the real me I ask
But the thoughts just echoes inside
Bounded by chains why cant I escape
The days are long, nights are fearful
Here I am all alone, yet surrounded by love
Blinded by the emptiness that’s leashed itself to my chest
Frightful that tomorrow will not come to cease the pain
Who adores me, who hears my pleading
I hear nothing but the sounds of my own thoughts
The heart is quiet it beats to no drum
Empty, lost and cold.. No one hears me

A Path

A PATH
I took a walk today
Down a rocky path
Without knowing
All the obstacles ahead
I kept walking
With a steady pace
I didn’t look back not once
Leaving my past life
Behind without any trace
The hills were steep
But I kept climbing
I had no other choice
I had to move on
Every step I made
Seemed the rocks where
Crumbling underneath my feet
I kept my balance and struggled along
The wind begin to blow
Rustling the leaves around me
Blowing debris in my path
I closed my eyes
And tried to overcome my fright
I was losing my way
How could I get back
I hit my knees
And said a prayer
Lord help me find you
I need you now more than ever
I felt someone with me
I was no longer alone
He lifted me to my feet
I closed my eyes
The light was so bright
The wind begin to stop blowing
So I opened my eyes
I was on a different path
And no one was around
But I could still feel him with me
The ground ahead of me was flat
So a begin to walk along
The sun was shinning
The wind was blowing
A cool breeze upon my face
The birds were chirping
A sweet melody
As a strolled along
I could smell the sweet flowers
And see the beauty of them all
I was no longer blinded
By the hate I had inside.
This was a better path
I was at peace
And no longer running
From the burden of my past
