The Only Man I'Ve Ever Loved

Living a lie
for the past eleven years.
Betrayed,
beaten,
broken.
A house,
two kids,
and the finest things money could buy.
But yet he still wasn't satisfied.
Still to this day...
He's the only man I've ever loved.
I felt so safe in his protective arms,
but as he held me those arms were holding another.
The love I felt from him as I looked in his eyes was but love for another;
this would eventually be our demise.
But as I stand here
betrayed,
beaten,
broken...
He will always remain the only man I've ever loved.

A Plague

Like a plague,
she invaded our lives.
Everything in her path she devours,
then she destroys.
She was the silent killer that roamed through the night.
The destruction she reaped was deceit and lies.
With the mask of an angel,
but was truly the devil in disguise.
Her nails dripped with blood from victims she claimed she loved.
It was all a farce,
a facade,
a lie.
But once she was given power,
her grip was too strong they could not survive.
True love was a memory and all its pieces were scattered in darkness.
So all that is left is the aftermath and the traces of a love that could have,
but did not survive.
