Charisse Chia Poem
Afraid
and alone.
Sunrise
Sunset,
Playing with stuffed dolls
Building paradise with all that I have,
Desperately.
Books, boxes, papers and pencils,
Sticks, bottles, clothes and glass
Random? No
But beautiful.
My paradise,
I have so little time with you.
I must go, I must study,
Must recite the dictionary to her,
Must not forget a word and if I do,
I must not scream, must not cry
Must not cry....NO! I must not cry
Then sent to prepare for tomorrows
She is done with me today
And I have you again, my paradise
Stuffed dolls and all that I have.
A substitute for my tears.

Charisse Chia Poem
Clearly, I have misjudged you
Clearly, the mind deceives
Clearly, there is something about you
I simply cannot perceive.
Clearly, you love all
Clearly - me included
Clearly, I am enthralled
You are most deeply appreciated.

Charisse Chia Poem
Cry not Elishah, do not break
They glare and frown. Your tormented soul
Our Father aches
For He sees, Elishah - He knows
What you are? Oh still a sweet rose
Stare not Elishah. She imitates you
Both disgusted, suicidal.
Mirrors break Elishah, so turn away
Stare only at the heavens
You must live another day.
Twenty pesos to get some sleep
Twenty pesos to eat once a week
Twenty pesos for dirty clothes to keep.
He sees him laugh and sees you cry
He sees him clearly, his hungry eyes
He sees the perversion choking his heart
And He sees...spirit...slowly die
Yet live another day Elishah. Live.
For He sees that cross in your pocket
Bless…you must live.
