...Until All the Stars Go Out

I will love you
As long as my lungs fill with air
To motivate my beating heart
To stir lifeblood through each part
Pulsating, animating there.

I will love you
As long as each new idea
Connects thought to tongue
Connects my mind along
Reasons for drawing you near.

I will love you
As long as the Earth will turn
Always to gently spin
Always a Day to begin
With you, for your love I yearn.

I will love you
Until clouds are no more
Or oceans evaporate,
Or mountains disintegrate
Into pebbles on the seashore.

I will love you
Until the constant Moon
Makes no oceans ebb and flow
Makes no continents shrink or grow,
That day will be too soon.

I will love you
Until all the stars go out
Never to give forth their light
Never to enhance the night
But blot our Eternity out…

The Poet Worthy of Praise

He or she who can put pen to paper
And write words for all to cherish and savour,
Who can touch the heart and fire the mind
And make us see things as if we were blind;
Who paints word pictures, again and again
With the swiftest strokes of a ballpoint pen,
Awakening feelings of wonder and awe
That, perhaps haven’t been sensed before;
Who makes heavy hearts feel at ease
As easily as the wind bends willow trees;
Truly, on that Poet’s words we should feed
For surely they’re worthy of praise indeed.

Note To Self

Remember to give a smile away
Before the day is through,
It costs not a single penny
But, you’ll feel richer for it, it’s true.

Remember to give someone
A little, though caring touch,
It may not seem a lot
But, the receiver will not think such.

Remember to give a little time
To someone young or old,
For soon you will be rewarded
With someone’s attention tenfold.

If you do remember
To do one of these kind deeds
Then your kindness will be seen
Like flowers flourishing among weeds.

Beautiful Inside

Appearances can be deceptive,
And to the superficial gaze
The outside seems dull and grey
Plain looking in many ways,
Yet, when a crack causes
Water to seep slowly through,
A Geode can split to reveal
A dazzling sight to view!
Piles of purple crystals
Sparkling in the light,
Such wonderful inner beauty
Now apparent for our delight.

Have you noticed how some people,
Like a Geode, seem as plain as can be?
Yet, if we take time to peer deeper,
Then, what gems would we see?
Perhaps a beautiful heart
We never thought was there,
Where an aching generosity
Is waiting its time to share?
Yes, a warm, glowing inner beauty
Will emerge before your eyes,
A newly discovered Treasure
For you to cherish, and to prize!

More Beautiful

Can there be a more beautiful Snowflake
To rest upon your pink nose
 Yet melt almost immediately
Like frost on a fragile Rose?

Can there be a more beautiful Lily
To bloom in the month of May
Which releases so potent a perfume
That it takes your breath away?

Can there be a more beautiful Beach
To walk on with bare feet,
One with soft powder white sands
And a breeze to temper the heat?

Can there be a more beautiful Rainbow
That arches across the sky
As showers pour in profusion
Like tears across your eye?

Can there be a more beautiful Sunset
With glorious colours to end the day
So wonderful a closing scene
That it makes you want to stay?

Yes! When enjoyed together
With the love of your life;
So enjoy all these, and more,
With your husband or your wife.

Walking Along the Seashore

Picking up pebbles
Or seashells strewn on soft sand
Is so relaxing.
