Anastasija Gjoreska Poem
I feel you near even when you're not here,
even when your face no longer lingers in my head,
when the wind no longer carries your scent,
and my body starts forgetting the feel
of your featherlight touch.
I feel your presence every single minute,
even your soft voice whispering in my ear.
I remember your smile,
the one that used to melt my heart,
and even your words that cut deep
and left a scar.
Yet I also remember the way
you used to gaze into my eyes,
as if I meant the world to you.
I remember how those glances
always made me fall in love with you,
and how, every single day,
I kept losing a little piece of you.

Anastasija Gjoreska Poem
You loved...
You loved the silence and the empty screen.
You loved a guy, enough to wait on him for weeks.
Waiting for a simple message
to ease the longing your aching heart feels.
Waiting for “I love you”
to quiet your fears.
And it was hard...
hard not to break beneath your thoughts.
So, when your heart would ache,
you'd hide.
Hide behind the memories
of words you only once read.
Hide behind the hope
that all of it was soon to end.
And you'd wait...
for the moment you'd be found,
by the one
who had your heart in his hands.

Anastasija Gjoreska Poem
Time flies by slowly, steadily... it is like
there is nothing worth rushing for.
Yet every second feels suffocating,
every minute feels longer than the previous.
Waiting slowly kills the feeling
of everything that might, for an instant,
make the day brighter.
Counting the passing days one by one,
suddenly the way it used to be seems
extremely far, distant.
The angst is pulling at every nerve,
playing with every thought,
that perhaps all there was
is slowly going to fade away.
Yet a promise, a few words shortly said,
keep my heart surprisingly at ease.
My sanity strains to survive,
but what can I do,
when all I long for is
to hear your voice.

Anastasija Gjoreska Poem
You… I wanted you.
How is it possible to crave something I can never have?
Your presence fails to leave my side.
Your image fails to remain forgotten… it can never become something I won't want.
And here I am again, yearning for your touch, yearning for your sweet voice, yearning for those late-night calls.
Here I am, hopelessly waiting to wake up from this nightmare, because how could a paradise like ours end up broken in the blink of an eye, shattered into a million pieces?
I prayed… I prayed to keep you by my side.
I prayed the happiness I had could linger longer than just a couple of months.
I hopelessly wished you’d never disappear from my sight.
And here you are, still lingering, torturing my heart.
Your soul is here, but your heart and mind have long since left my side.
Your words remain, repeating the empty promises we once made. They’re engraved deeply in my memory.
They ache.
I thought I had finally found a reason to let go, yet here I sit, drowning once again, holding onto something that was once mine but is now so far, so painfully out of reach.
Still holding onto feelings I fought so hard to release.
Still holding onto the expectations of what we could have been.
Still holding onto the version of you that you imprinted into my head.
I’m haunted, love.
So deeply haunted.
This love has consumed me whole.
Those constant dreams keep pulling me deeper into that abyss. I wish I could forget you.
Yet somehow, I have forgotten how to do so.
I’m followed everywhere by the curiosity of all those “what if” thoughts.
Because what if you never left?
Would we have overcome all the obstacles in our way?
Would we have fixed the broken parts we both carried along?
Would we have learned to keep trying instead of giving up?
Tell me, my love…
If you had never left,
would we have finally been able to meet somehow?
