My Worst Enemy is...

My worst enemy is my mind.
I constantly worry about the time.
Whether I'm moving too fast or too slow,
or if I'm going where I shouldn't go.

The teenage mind is the worst of all,
constantly dealing with social withdrawal.
Not knowing if I should go or stay,
or if they'd even want me there anyway.

See, as you age, they say you “grow up,”
and you learn to forget and get up.
But for right now, I don't know if that's true,
for I've been this way for a while,
and thinking is all I do.

I worry and mope,
then I stop and I choke.
I hold myself back for the enemy I hate,
and constantly put them first
because they control my fate.

My worst enemy is my mind,
A battle I struggle to leave behind.
This is not just a “phase,”
It's something I face through my days.

Through My Eyes

I wish I wasn't so aware.
I constantly question my awareness.
Am I looking too deeply into it?
Or is that what's truly being shown?

I see these girls,
so confident and bold,
and then there's me.

I don't fit in.
No matter how much makeup I put on,
or how baggy my jeans are,

I'll never be like them.
They're all perfect,
and I wish they could see themselves through my eyes
instead of diminishing me through theirs.

Be Bored

Being bored could save your life
Whether big or small
Every man needs to be bored
Many times through all

Through all the distractions
And paths of dismay
A man will get led onto the wrong path
By the thoughts in his way

These thoughts are no ordinary thoughts
They are evil
They are there to distract you
From what is civil

But being bored sets you free
You gain freedom of imagination
No thought to distract you
And no “bad path” to be made

So for just a small moment,
Let yourself be bored
Don't find anything to disturb you
Just sit there and let your mind explore.

I Am Not Pretty

My mistakes have taken a toll on me
In many aspects of my life
I no longer feel pretty without makeup on
Because i can see the secrets hidden under my skin
I no longer feel confident in revealing clothing
Because i know the insecurities lying underneath the remaining cloth
Mistakes are things you learn from
And I have learned plenty.
I have learned that i am not the person i think i am
Im a coward
I constantly hide my flaws while shaming other peoples
And i make myself into a different person so i can be liked,
Then make fun of those who are unique
Im a fool for ever thinking i was pretty
Because being pretty isn't just your face or your body
It's the thoughts and soul behind those things
The way you process a compliment, and how you respond
Or what you think when someone is different from you
These thoughts and actions show who you are, or who you are trying to be
And i have realized i have lost myself in this foreign body
This is not mine, I am a fake.
