Kristina Payne Poem
I remember tomorrow, I know that sounds impossible.?
Like saying I have already cried?for a goodbye that hasn't happened yet.
But I can see the white rose
I can feel its stem between my fingers,?the thorn pressing into my skin,?and somehow, I know exactly when it will hurt.
I know there will be sunlight on the table.?I know someone will laugh in the next room,?I know I will stand there thinking,?Please, let me keep this moment.
And that is the strangest part?I haven't lived it,?but I miss it.
Maybe that's what love does.?Maybe loving something means?your heart starts remembering its ending?before your life has reached the
beginning.
Because I look at this rose?still closed, still becoming,?holding an entire bloom inside itself.
And maybe we are like that too:?carrying memories of places we've never been,?goodbyes we haven't said,?people we haven't met,?
futures we are already afraid to lose.
So yes, I remember tomorrow.
Not because I've been there
but because somewhere inside me,?I have already begun to love it.

Kristina Payne Poem
Life never asked what I could bear
It only kept adding weight
I broke in places no one saw
Still, morning knocked every day.
Grief made a house in my chest
Hope paid rent one breath at a time
Some nights, I envied the dark
It never had to pretend.
I wore smiles like borrowed skin
My silence learned every scream
Yet the cracks refused to close
So I learned to breathe through them.

Kristina Payne Poem
WHEN AUTUMN COMES
There is something about autumn
that feels like coming home.
Not the kind of home
with four walls and a door—
but the kind you feel
somewhere deep inside your chest.
The air changes.
Suddenly,
the mornings have a little more poetry in them.
The wind feels cooler against your skin,
and the sky seems to stretch a little farther
just to remind you—
slow down.
Look around.
You made it here.
I love the way the trees
let go of what they can no longer carry
and somehow make letting go
look beautiful.
Gold.
Amber.
Red.
Orange.
Everywhere I look,
the world is burning with color
without ever being on fire.
And the leaves—
oh, the leaves.
They fall without fear.
They simply trust
that there is somewhere else to land.
Maybe that's why I love this season so much.
Because autumn teaches us
that change doesn't always mean loss.
Sometimes,
change is just another word
for becoming.
And then there's coffee.
That first warm cup
on a cold morning—
steam rising like a little prayer,
hands wrapped around the mug,
the smell filling the room
before the day even begins.
Pumpkin spice.
Cinnamon.
Vanilla.
Whatever makes the morning
feel like a hug.
Give me an oversized sweater,
a blanket,
rainy afternoons,
cloudy skies,
and leaves crunching beneath my feet.
Give me a book I don't have to finish
and a playlist I don't have to explain.
Give me sunsets
that arrive a little earlier
and evenings that ask nothing from me
except to be still.
There is beauty
in the quiet of autumn.
Because summer tells us—
go.
But autumn whispers—
stay.
Stay awhile.
Watch the leaves fall.
Listen to the rain.
Drink your coffee slowly.
Call someone you love.
Take the long way home.
Let yourself breathe.
And maybe that's what I love most.
Autumn doesn't pretend
that everything stays.
It shows us
that beautiful things can have endings
and still be beautiful.
That seasons change.
That chapters close.
That trees lose their leaves
and somehow survive the winter.
So when that first cool breeze arrives,
when the first leaf turns gold,
when the morning feels different
and the coffee tastes a little warmer—
I welcome autumn.
Because there are some seasons
you don't simply live through.
You feel them.
And autumn?
Autumn is a feeling.
A warm cup between cold hands.
A sweater pulled close.
A sky painted in October colors.
A quiet moment
when the world finally stops rushing
and for just a little while,
everything feels
where it belongs.
