The Cloud

The cloud looked down in silent shame -
'Oh! What do I do? My lighting kills!'

The strong winds blew it to pastures green -
'O Look down now - your rainfall heals!'

The Oxy-Moron!

Looking for a bittersweet beginning of the end,
Walking on and on straight round a bend -
I came upon a genius (so crazy),
Scrolling clearly confused with focus (so hazy)
Staring at his In-mail that he couldn't send!

Gold

Is Gold, Nature's favourite hue -
For new beginnings, and transitions too?

The gold of the sun - upon each new morn
And gold again - when the day is gone.

The flash of gold - before the green
In each new leaf-bud - barely seen.

Green turns gold - under autumn skies
Heralding leaf-fall before our eyes.

Little wonder then, that we turn to gold
To symbolize new beginnings - since days of old!

Impermanence

No one has ever come here to stay -
Be it a flower's bloom for a day,
A few weeks of a butterfly's beauty,
Or years of man's endless duty.

So, let go - let go -
         Why this trife?
All is washed away
         On the seashore of life.

What will remain
         Is the wave-washed sand -
Awaiting new footprints
         Freshly to land.

To the Banyan Sapling: A Child in the Cradle

I looked at you in tender love -
A tender shoot rising up from the ground,
Your new leaves radiant in the morning sun,
Freshly washed by the raindrops around.

A Banyan doesn't grow in a day, they say -
Challenging Mother Earth to give it her all
To raise this colossus of the forest green
That, for aeons to come, shall be standing tall.

A veritable king holding forests together
With majestic roots - above and below the ground,
The mighty trunk - nurturing and shelterimg
Every life-form all around.

I look at you again in over-awed silence -
Envisioning the great future that has begun!
The tremendous potential of that tender shoot
Its new leaves radiant in the morning sun.

Nearing the end of the toilet roll..

When nearing the end of your toilet roll -
Apprehension of the unknown takes its toll.
Turn back to Nature for some respite,
For inspiration on what is right -
To calm your mind and free your soul.

AI Oversell: My new washing machine

The newest model has in-built AI -
My scientific mind suspects a lie.
     Estimating all wash-loads -
     Exact water for my clothes!
Just a clever sensor - to fool the eye!

Eternity

"You hold Eternity in your hand!"
Boomed the ocean to the shore.
"For, in every grain of sand -
Is Earth's history for evermore! "

The Moment of Beauty (DHR)

A blade of grass - trod upon and dejected
Looked wistfully at the beauty around -
'Why am I so ordinary?' he sighed,
'The humblest creation ever to be found!'

Then came magical autumn with her dewdrops galore!
One dropped on him like a diamond rare -
And, lit up with fire in the rising moon
In that moment of beauty - none else could compare!

The Professor

An old Professor of Mathematics,
Strict and immune to his students' antics -
Taught estimations - crisp and clear
Misjudged the distance of his chair
Fell down hard and needed walking sticks!
