Come Away With Me

Come away with me…
to a place that’s safe and warm,
where love abounds and none can harm;
to a place where clear blue waters meet hot white sand,
where we can stroll together forever, hand-in-hand.

Come away with me…
to a place where dreams take flight,
and they don’t disappear with the night;
to a place where crashing waves serenade
lovers lying in a hammock in the shade.

Come away with me…
to a place where we can be free,
where you can be you, and I can be me;
to a place of dancing in the rain,
where we can leave behind all the world’s pain.

Come away with me…
to a place where our bodies become one,
on a blanket under the stars or under the sun;
to a place of no secrets, no regrets,
where forgiveness lives and hurt forgets.

Come away with me…
to a place where bodies entangle in passion’s embrace,
where gazes linger and wild hearts race;
to a place of ecstasy, joy and peace,
where fireworks explode, oh sweet release!

Come away with me…
where no one else can be,
a place reserved for just you and me.
Just hold me tight, get lost in a kiss;
for in that moment is where this place exists.

Let's Fly

I look longingly above
At the big blue sky.
Do you think it’s possible
For me to fly?

I flap my wings
To no avail;
Everything I try
Seems to fail.

Why can’t I move,
Somehow break free?
Something’s holding me down,
Stronger than gravity.

I look around me,
And there I see
Another soul longing
To be free.

I take his hand,
Try to take flight.
But we don’t move,
Something’s not right.

Our first thought is
To turn away,
But Someone beckons,
We begin to pray.

Something happens
Right then and there;
Suddenly we feel
As light as air.

He changes our hearts,
Makes us new.
One look at Him
And off we flew.

No tether holds us down;
No limits, none.
We fly together
For, in Him, we are one.

So come fly with me
To heights unknown.
I’m lost without you,
I can’t soar alone.

Free To Dance!

Like a diamond, sparkling so bright
Just out of reach, want to grab on tight.

Admiration and desire grow in my heart
Little did I realize it would tear me apart.

The grass looked greener, thought it would be sweet
Forbidden fruit—nothing but deceit.

“No one will know; no one will be hurt.”
It’s a lie!  Don’t even flirt.

My eyes were opened before it was too late
Thank you for saving me from a terrible fate.

I see the one before me with whom I am one
There’s no one else for me under the sun.

I’m happy, content, at total peace
Love, rediscovered, will never cease.

So thank you, Lord for a second chance
I’m free as a bird; once again I can dance!

The Tortured Soul's Cry

Down, drowning
Head held under
No relief, no comfort
My heart’s torn asunder.

On a mountaintop,
Soaring briefly.
Just when I feel safe
You stomp on me.

Is this life?
Is there no more?
Where can I run
When I’m tired and sore?

Do you hear me?
Do you care at all?
Every time I get up
You make me fall.

Why do you tease?
Why are you cruel?
Does God not have to obey
His own “Golden Rule”?

I turn to you,
You just ignore.
People blessed all around,
Nothing for just one more?

Heart breaking,
Soul crying out
Please step in and show me
What life is all about!

Do you hate me?
If so, why?
I’ll wait and listen
As I bury my head and cry.

If you’re there
You’ll have to come to me
I can’t move…
Heart’s paralyzed, you see.

My Destiny

Destiny…
What is it for me?
Is it greatness or fame?
Will there come a day
When people will know my name?

Destiny…
Is it set in stone?
Or can it be changed?
Has it been cast?
Has it been prearranged?

Destiny…
Do I look for it…
Or will it find me?
Will I know when I find it?
Will I be set free?

Destiny…
Is it in the journey?
It’s becoming clear.
That’s it!  I finally see…
My Destiny is here.

Destiny…
Lies not in what I do
But in Who I know.
Where he leads
Is where I’ll go.

That’s my Destiny!

Unchained

Help me!  I’m lost.
So many reckless decisions,
Without counting the cost.

Boxes, boxes…I’m all locked in.
Please release me;
I want to be free again.

Forgiveness, please find me.
Reach in and save this child,
Who desperately needs thee.

Rags for riches…a joke?
But rags are all I have;
I’m emotionally broke.

The world caves in…I sink.
Make it all better;
You can, You know, in a blink.

Hey, God…do you care?
Please give me a sign
That You’re really there.

Blessings abound, oh can it be,
That You heard my cry,
That You rescued me?

Chains released…prisoner no more.
Spreading my wings,
Thanks to you, I can soar.
