Sweet Kitty

The fat grey cat sat licking, licking her long silky fur.
She lazily sprawls and yawns with a harrumph. She lay her head down and splayed her soft pink padded toes, as she curled up to take a deep kitty sleep.
Dream sweet kitty, dream.

A Pretty Family

I saw a pretty family. Their number was three.
Love was abound, they played, you could see.

I see a pretty family. It's not what it seems.
Each is lost and alone, they live in their dreams.

I see a pretty family. Life has moved along,
Money is not an issue, love lingers on.

I see a pretty family, of three down to one.
One got busy on their own, the other moved on.

So sits a member of a pretty family alone,
and let be. His wealth is much, but there's no one to see.

Had he paid more attention, if he lived less annoyed… perhaps he would not need to be alone to embrace the void.

A letter to mom

It's hard to smile. It hurts to laugh.
I'm dead inside, yet burning on fire.
I'm all alone, you left me here…
Alone in my thoughts, alone in my fears.
Look at me, mom, and this daughter of mine.
I wish you could know her, there just wasn't time.
She takes after me with her fits and her pouts.
She is beautiful, mom… inside and out.
So here we are, my daughter and I, both hurting, yet healing and helping each other get by.

Black as Pitch

I lay, I stare, I look around… it's black as pitch. I'm underground.

I'm chained, I'm bound, the walls are tight. Someone help me! Give me light!

Trickles of liquid run through my chains. I smell the blood as it seeps from my veins.

The air hangs heavy and smells of damp earth,
Help me, hear me, give me rebirth!

Despair; it is taking me, my blood draining low, when a rumble above me, it renews my soul

My was my tomb, bound here for certain,
But now I hear them: dig, dig, pull back the curtain.

Its close now I feel it, then the door did burst free,
Someone was sneering, yes, sneering down upon me.

He said not a word, he made no move to help me more.
He simply stuffed a rag in my mouth and with a wicked chuckle, closed the door.
