Emergence of an Egress

None of the practical rules apply
To an impractical person
Like a figure of our imagination
Nothing can be certain
And whatever form they take
You can't be sure of their version
I'm trying to reconcile
What can and what should be
And as I navigate insecure waters
I still hope for bounty

Let Us Hurry Along

Don't let me forget my purse
I'm sorry children I don't mean to be terse
Come down at once from that twisted tree
Mommy has a meeting to make by three
And oh, if your father's eyes could see
He'd tell you at once we must leave
Come, let us hurry along
There will be time enough to play
Once we are gone

Octaves of Love

The notes we play must love obey
Even when somber and weary we attempt
The song that dances from your lips
Tells me to come closer
We all try to sing in tune, but some of us come a little closer
Name the music that is in my heart
And I will try to play it for you

Mingle

To mingle, what an easy thing to do As I recall, that is how I met you Let not your heart be faint And show no measure of restraint That is the way we can be sure That our personalities acquaint Remember me not for what I was But for the canvass on which I did paint

Trust

I don't have long to make my point
Try as I must
You've only given me six lines
And we've only just met
I'll give my words to trust
That a just judge I will get
