Sriya Kota Poem
Her skin holds light differently, not borrowed, not reflected.
But absorbed, kept, deepened.
Her hair rechase upward,
Curling towards something ancient but still.
Hands hover near it as if curiosity attains more rights than her.
Her lips full of language, hesitate sporadically.
Not for the lack of words, but the careful knowing of how they will be received.
The knowing that every word must survive the distance between meaning and reception.
She entered with a practiced ease, but her presence was announced and judged long before she was ever allowed to arrive.
She rearranges herself daily, a chair pushed back here.
A mirror turned just slightly away there.
So the quiet fault line within her remains undisturbed, unnamed.
And still she moves as though none of this is spectacle.
Yet, the room recalibrates.
Subtly.
Precisely.
A shift so fine it evades accusation,
yet palpable enough to settle
against her skin like a second climate.
She, weary of being atmosphere, of being something reacted to.
Interpreted, forecasted. Weary of existing as the weather.
Discussed.
Rarely understood.
She desires the gravity of Earth instead.
To be unremarked in her permanence.
To hold weight without spectacle.
To exist without translation
Without the constant labor of being legible.
To be assumed, as mountains are assumed,
As soil is trusted, the ground is never questioned for holding.
And perhaps she will arrive as the sun arrives
not interrogated, not exceptionalized,
not a rendered anomaly
but inevitable, integral,
and entirely her own.

Sriya Kota Poem
The day we met the shining sun's gaze and the pouring rain
Waiting at the bus stop hoping for the train
Walking walking here and there but always feeling everywhere
As I paced through the sidewalk trying to avoid the rain
I saw you there dancing away the pain
When our eyes met I thought my heart melted
So magical that I thought it could be presented
And if we met again standing at the bus stop waiting for the pouring rain
Would you do it all over again?
The books we have read and the memories we made
Would you freeze or let them replay
The feeling gets me thinking of the pain
But I’ll stay here sinking in the rain
Because meeting you was a dream
But back then we were just teens
Side by side, drowning our pain
With the scene embroidered in my brain

Sriya Kota Poem
You know what you wanna do
and yet i dont have a single clue
Blinded to the ceiling
Twisted in this feeling
Where are we going?
No idea its just flowing
What should i do next?
They claim I’ll find you calling
I keep on hoping and waiting
My head is hurting,
Yet I keep on thinking
I can’t help but feel blue
I need to find my cue
I just need a clue

Sriya Kota Poem
I always knew I would grow up
Knowing that in my view
One day I will be able to tie my shoe
But I guess I still didn't get my cue
Cause you laughed as you tied for me
On my behalf, you opened the door with a smile
It was so beautiful i started to notice your style
And how you’d wait for me as we ran the mile
When I’m lost your the one I dial
What's this feeling?
Im not sure but its quite healing
As I stare at the ceiling
With you being my meaning
