How Do I Say This

You don’t understand
It’s deeper than that
It’s a metaphor
It’s symbolic
It’s beautiful
It’s special
It’s perfect
But you’re not
You’re not beautiful
You’re not special
You’re not perfect
Not even close
Our words paint an ethereal plain
You’re just plain
We walk across the water
You drown
We soar through the sky
You crawl through the mud
We sit on the throne
You wither in the cage
Genius pours from our minds
Blood pours from your hands
We are hailed for our verbiage
You are mocked for your courage
We are made as false idols
You surpass your vast high goals
We cry when asked to make
You cry when words mistake
You
You for one of us
You are not one of us
When you run out of paper
When you run of of ink
When the end pulls us all under
Maybe it will be you
And not us
That is spared
By the ones
That know who
Really told the truth

Let My Pen Bid Farewell

Said as it was long ago
Said the same though

A feeling of sickness when well
A damning of all good to hell

Intentions aside, married the bride
Where the schoolchildren inside once cried

It’s nice when it all rhymes
Afraid of the dark, it shines

I don’t look back anymore
At the blood, violence, love, and gore

Or is it all in the head
Nobody full of lead, just alone in the bed

Is that what is pain
So take it away, please, slain

All is gone but me, so now
Life goes further, beyond what I can see, anyhow

Wind, wind will go
And when, nobody knows

There is really nothing left of love
Love is gone, no not that one, it rises above

That love is going strong
So only I’m here, wrong

I hope God knows I’m reduced
Left at my doorstep, my mind seduced

Finish me before my tears hit the floor, the crestfallen sore, before, my sea comes ashore

Lay rest to me
Impressed to be
In eternal ecstasy

And Here Comes Death

The boy comes to a place on the sidewalk
As his sole prepares to waste it’s soul
The caterpillar calls out, shrieking calmly

Man, remember I am here
I don’t move as fast as you
So please, empathize with me

Man, why do you pretend
Pretend to be the object
That you loathe so deeply
A lustful thirst to be seen
Consumes the eyes of you
And ends the lives of youth

Man, why do try to find
So many reasons to end
What you’ve wanted so desperately
Since your first breath of sin

Man, man, man,
That lover doesn't feel like you
Could it be said that the knife
Cuts farther into the gold than the flesh

I can’t speak for you, man
Though your fleshy brain
Commands the cataclysm
To thwart your heart and optimism
And said with lonely intent,

Man,
Do what you wish onto yourself onto others
But do good for you and your lover
Not as a bad fellow did say
Felo de se

For You

Maybe she won’t think so hard next time
I ask her if I’m real
Maybe if she told me the truth
I wouldn’t have to lie so much
Maybe if she brought me plastic flowers
The bees wouldn’t die like the birds did
Maybe if uncertainty was promised
I could say she kept her side
Maybe if she didn’t look so nice
I could see myself in her
Maybe if she didn’t keep so tidy
The cadaver dogs could smell her closet

But maybe if so much was undone
She could feel as if there was hope
But maybe if they were more thoughtful
She could have a thought of childhood
But maybe if she loved herself
As much as I love her

You could know it’s all for you

Not Deep Enough

Are you proud of me?
Should I try a bit harder?
When will I please you?

Unbounded

As the shackles were torn asunder
And the chains were turned to shred
Wars waged and paths were plundered
It was better left unsaid

For what to do now
The cage gave direction
Without it there is doubt
A mind-numbing perplexion

Ridden with waste
The land is barren dry
A lack of haste
To stop the lies

Suddenly awake from the dreams
We are better off now it seems

Hopeful Addiction

Hellos and goodbyes
I see God in your eyes

Like a freeze in the spring
Like a landslide at sea
You shake me so violently
My head falls out of place
And I faint

Addition and subtraction
A fatal attraction

Is there anybody left here
Who speaks how I do
Can you understand me
I know they can’t
But so I go

You do a part and I do a part
Your blood is from my heart

Forever Dreaming

Last night I had a dream
You told me how you much used to love me
You told me how I made it all so perfect
You told me that you’d kill me
If it meant we could be together
Forever

Last night I had a dream
You told me how I’ve changed
You told me how I can’t read your writing
You told me you’re leaving
But you left me here
Dreaming

I lie in the empty pit of my accomplishments
Waiting to wake up

Blood-Soaked Sweatshirt

My blood-soaked sweatshirt
Was soaked by something lovely
That something was you

After Silence

All the kids are dressed in black

The heavens gaze down in anguish
The man lays down, vanquished

He had much more to do
But he made a deal with you
And the devil asked his due

The angel is scarred
No holds were barred
God let down his guard
Or so says the bard

The woman cries and weeps
The man lies and sleeps
The bird flies and peeps
The body dies and keeps
The soul strides and leaps

Send all of your powers
In lieu of flowers
So he can have the hours
To sweeten his sours

But nonetheless
I digress
He’ll be just fine suppressed

Go on to eat
Go on to meet

Six feet is not that deep
