Singled Out Poem
You stalk me through the flashing haze,
your shutter catching all my ways;
I pose like I'm not keeping score,
but crave the click, then beg for more.
You linger where the shadows bend,
my secret rival, closest friend;
your lens undresses every truth,
I glow for you, eternal youth.
You chase me down the midnight street,
I slow my stride so we might meet;
your breath behind me, warm and near,
a whispered fame I long to hear.
We orbit in a fevered spin,
you want my world, I want your grin;
obsession twines us, tight and bright,
two silhouettes in borrowed light.
So take your shot, my favorite view.
I shine because you're watching too.

Singled Out Poem
The phrase, "New Year, New Me," doesn't have a single inventor.
Yet we're so desperately influenced, to become a temporary ascender.
Ancient resolutions of personal reflection and commitment gave meaning that lives.
Today's marketing hook sells superficial products and services that take more than gives.
Once we pledged ourselves with honor, quiet and true.
Now we chase a "New Year, New Me," because YOU simply won't do.
The promise that once guided, gentle and wise.
Has turned to a glare of impossible skies.
Ancient vows gave hope, patient and free.
Modern slogans demand a "new you" instantly.
We used to resolve with patience, not fear.
Now "New Year, New Me" whispers, you're not enough here.
Notice when you are aware.
And not just to change the skin you wear.
To name your moods and track your days.
To act with values, not just praise.
The small steps reveal the self-inside.
Where strengths and growth quietly reside.
This year I wish for a heart that's awake.
To feed my soul with choices I make.
To grow in strength, in mind, and in grace.
To honor myself in every space.
To see the shine and filters spun.
And know true worth is never done.
To build my life with steady hands.
Beyond the pull of marketing lands.

Singled Out Poem
Snowfall drifts softly in the quiet of dawn,
a whisper reminding me that some seasons are gone.
Each flake on my lashes dissolves like a sigh,
reminding my heart it's allowed to untie.
I release what once warmed me,
the love I outgrew,
not bitter, not broken, just honest and true.
The past settles gently in blankets of white,
a memory now fading in winter's soft light.
And ahead lies a landscape untouched and unknown,
a path without footprints, a world of my own.
The future invites me with calm, open air,
a promise of something new waiting for me there.
As I step through the snowfall, letting go of the ache,
trusting the beauty of each new choice I make.
For moving isn't losing, it's learning to see,
that the unknown can be gentle, and set my heart free.

Singled Out Poem
I move through the quiet spaces
between a heartbeat and it's echo,
where galaxies loosen their grip
and drifts like ash across the dark.
Most never notice me.
They feel only a thinning,
a soft unraveling at the edges,
as if the world has exhaled
and forgotten to breathe again.
I do not hurry.
I have learned the patience
of collapsing stars,
the slow surrender of light
as it folds into its own absence.
Sometimes I linger beside them,
listening to the small sounds
a soul makes when it begins to loosen,
the tremor of memory,
the faint crack of a name
trying to stay whole.
They ask me who I am,
though not with words.
A tremor in the breath,
a widening of the eyes,
the body always knows me first.
I watch the moment recognition blooms
slow as frost across a windowpane.
The air tightens.
The light recoils.
Even the shadows lean away.
Some try to speak,
but their voices collapse
before the sound can form.
They understand then,
not from my shape,
but from the sudden absence
of everything that kept them warm.
I do not wear a face.
I do not need one.
They know me anyway.
It is always the same,
that quiet, sinking realization
that I am not a visitor,
but the destination.

Singled Out Poem
Born in the shade where the cold roots creep,
a bud stayed small in the soils deep sleep.
Others rose early, all petals and praise,
while it stayed twisted through endless days.
Whispers called it a withered mistake,
a bloom too broken to ever awake.
Yet cracks in the darkness let one truth through,
the rarest flowers bloom out of view.
When dawn at last brushed its quiet face,
it opened slow with a fierce, strange grace.
Not meant for gardens that bloom on time,
its beauty waited, then struck sublime.

Singled Out Poem
She whispered truths she never meant,
each vow a crack in her intent;
the stories tangled, tightening fast,
till even she lost where they went.
Her mirror showed a face downcast,
a haunted look she couldn't mask;
the lies grew teeth she couldn't still,
and every breath became a task.
She felt the world tilt sharp and chill,
her careful web began to spill;
the threads she spun now pulled her down,
a prisoner to her own will.
Yet in the wreckage she had sown,
a fragile truth began to grow;
from shattered words she learned at last,
the cost of lies she used to own.

Singled Out Poem
Alone with you before you breathed, I faced the world in fear,
but every kick beneath my ribs said, Mommy, I am here.
He walked away from both of us, a choice he can't undo,
so I became the strength he lacked and poured it into you.
Now sixteen years have carved you into someone brave and true,
a man who proves that love can build what absence never knew.
Your father left an empty space he never tried to fill,
but you became the man who rose from all that he left still.

Singled Out Poem
I blinked and felt my feet go small,
Four fuzzy paws, no shoes at all.
A wagging tail began to sway,
Somehow I was a dog today.
Beside me sat a tabby bright,
My son, now whiskered, striped and light.
He purred, "Well this is new for sure,"
Then bounded through a golden door.
A familiar bark ran out across the ridge,
She waited near the rainbow bridge.
Our rescued girl, all healed and free,
Came racing, overjoyed to see.
She nuzzled me with happy cries,
A knowing sparkle in her eyes.
She circled him with gentle grace,
Then led us toward a shining place.
"You saved my life," her presence said,
"From hopeless days and fear and dread.
Now let me guide you, just as true,
I've waited here to walk with you."
We followed through the colored gleam,
As light danced softly like a dream.
And only when the sky turned blue
did I see what she already knew.
The world below grew faint and thin,
A place we wouldn't walk again.
My son curled close, his purrs at rest,
We understood but felt no stress.
For she was there, our loyal friend,
To lead us home at journey's end.
And she, our guide, with tail held high,
Led us toward the endless sky.

Singled Out Poem
The fever climbs,
my breath grows thin,
I feel the dark
come creeping in.
I hear the scrape
of hooves and flame.
He whispers low
and calls my name.
I beg him, "Wait...
don't take me yet."
There's truth I've kept
the world won't get.
For every face
I lured with lies,
dimming every spark
behind their eyes.
I chased that thrill,
that perfect pull,
the way their fear
could make me full.
They followed me
so soft, so blind,
as obsession fed
my hollow mind.
I kept my tracks
so neat, so clean.
No trace of me
was ever seen.
No prints, no proof,
no witness near,
A killer who slipped away
year after year.
The hunt was sweet,
the silence, too,
the world stayed dark,
the leads stayed few.
But now I choke
on every choice.
The devil laughs
to hear my voice.
He says my soul
is marked and claimed,
that hell already
knows my name.
I feel the truth
begin to swell:
I carved my path
straight into hell.
So take me now,
I've played my part.
Obsession was
my dying heart.

Singled Out Poem
I send my wheels on uneven ground,
fear humming louder than the street,
but courage sparks when I push off,
a girl who won't accept defeat.
I land the trick I thought I'd miss,
not built for crowns, I’m built for this.
