Norman Van Etten Poem
We are eternal, yet only life we claim,
Mirrors of light reflected in time’s frame.
Between dawn and dusk, our hearts resound,
With music vast, yet nowhere bound.
Eternal stretches love’s endless sea,
No edge where being turns to debris.
It sings within stars, in rivers’ flow,
A silent bond that roots and grows.
The soul blooms past what fear can bind,
Beyond possession, beyond the mind.
In stillness, truth like pollen drifts,
The infinite in mortal gifts.
To live with depth is to breathe forever,
Mold tomorrow in today’s endeavor.
All we touch remains, a flowing trace,
Nothing lost leaves no space.
We are eternal, yet only life’s light,
In this moment’s glow, eternity’s sight.
A fleeting door, tenderly bright,
Opening wide to endless life.

A Marine once strong, now gently retired,
A student of life, still humbly inspired,
Kindly, he walks with purpose and grace.

Norman Van Etten Poem
He gave us a home perfect and whole
A place to live, A place to grow.
We’ve accepted this Eden,
yet squandered It all.
This earth we’ve turned into the world we know.
The hate, the murders, the wars, the tears.
The earth He created, the world we have made.
Forgive us, Father, Your mercy we bade.

Norman Van Etten Poem
Love Is Who We Are
Love is the breath within our soul,
The quiet force that makes us whole.
It lifts us high, it lights the way,
It holds the night, it shapes the day.
God is Love—our truest name,
A sacred fire, a living flame.
When love is strong, we feel its rise,
When love grows faint, we sense the skies.
Love is the gauge, the guiding star,
The barometer of who we are.
It carries us through storm and strife,
The pulse, the rhythm, the song of life.
So let it in—don’t turn away,
Admit its truth, let love have sway.
Accept its gift, let hearts rejoice,
For Love is One, the endless voice.

Norman Van Etten Poem
A Poem of Fresh Hope
In the quiet dawn, an inspiring spark,
Awakens hearts with dazzling light.
Enthralling dreams break through the dark,
Painting horizons fresh and bright.
Sincere whispers in the morning air,
Promise kindness, gentle and true.
With every moment, hope is there—
Enthralling visions carried through.
Dazzling days that chase the night,
Fresh beginnings, honest and clear.
Inspiring souls to rise in delight,
Sincere in courage, conquering fear.

Norman Van Etten Poem
The space between, never noticed,
never seen, yet adds so much to everything.
With pen in hand, we scar the page
Our words of wisdom all in vain.
For without the space, they're all insane.
So write a story, write a joke without
The space, there is no hope.

Flakes of love fall from above
They grace the land white as a dove
They dance and swirl as if at play
They truly make it a beautiful day

Norman Van Etten Poem
Our nation’s like a runaway horse,
Galloping wild, no steady course.
Hearts divided, voices raised,
But deep inside, our hope’s not fazed.
Let’s bring it back, back to love,
To friends and family we’re thinking of.
Respect and kindness be our guide,
Together with love, we’ll turn the tide.
It takes us all—a hand to hold,
Community strong, heart and soul.
Listening closely, with open hands,
Building bridges across the lands.
One step, one voice, one caring heart,
Mending wounds, a brand new start.
In kindness, in truth, we find our way,
Healing together, day by day.
Runaway horse, slow your pace,
In love and respect, find your place.
Our nation will heal, with hearts aligned,
In friendship and love, a new day shines.

Norman Van Etten Poem
Is the ego a friend or foe?
The answer lies not in taking sides,
but in tracing the curve of its mystery.
It is the whisper that calls us to rise,
to create, to love,
to guard the tender spaces of the heart.
Yet it also shadows us—
with fear,
with comparison,
with the lonely ache of being separate.
Our task is not to silence it,
nor to let it claim the crown,
but to meet it as we would a restless friend:
listening, discerning,
guiding fire toward gentle light.
When it lifts, we soar with it;
when it binds, we breathe until it softens.
We learn humility as counterpoint,
empathy as compass,
and the dance becomes less of struggle
and more of grace.
In time, we see—
ego is neither friend nor foe,
but a companion on the road of becoming,
imperfect, transforming,
always traveling beside us.

Norman Van Etten Poem
In winter’s hush, the flue breathes slow,
The chimney’s silhouette in fading glow.
Soft warmth lingers by the old hearth’s sigh,
Memories resting on the Mantel high.
A quiet comfort, tender and mild,
Echoes of home through time’s child.
