Steven Trousdale Poem
May eyes and ears be open to the truth
As fragile as the fevered fledgling flies
Rejoice that better days may still be proof
That wisdom’s wily will shall curtail lies
In days of old their prejudice was clear
Now sleeps its dormant heart but still its near
Look not to history to celebrate
Under the rocks of equal lives lie cracks
The power play performed did demonstrate
How those who pull the strings avoid the racks
Earth never will be peaceful sad to say
Real battles lie in plain sight everyday
Know this, for every step that we have walked
I pledge that every promise that was talked
None shall stop and cheer our equal rights
Go farther, for our future we must fight

Steven Trousdale Poem
If peace could only be
more than a fleeting wish
a dream that dare exist
through stamina and strength
It's provenance persist
If peace could only be
a fateful crush we'd court
a cherished lifetime gift
that war could never thwart
as spirit shall uplift
If peace could only be
a source of wealth and greed
that humankind did crave
whose riches spilled and shared
did keep souls from the grave
If peace could only be
the jewelled jealous queen
that all who saw desired
that love would praise and preen
and every soul admired

Steven Trousdale Poem
I hate those politicians, they just lie
Promises of earth to any takers
Every time the ballot box is nigh
They'll sell their souls, fast as recordbreakers
By six months they've been exposed as fakers
Fast forward forty years fate does recall
My speech prepared, a wry fly on the wall
Flattered by the lure of praise and title
My rosette pinned, I'm shaking hands with all
Gritted teeth, I lie through my recital

Steven Trousdale Poem
The middle eastern spell that shames the solemn
In shadowed midden dwells the stain now common
In darkness beaten fell in name of goodwill
Our princess peace repels their pain and blood spill
She struggles selfless held in chains by order
Poor passive tranquil, gelled by blames and borders
The stolen fertile meld of reigns now taken
Where powered egos tell of hope forsaken
Let gentle logic down the dames of warfare
Whose metal madness grounds the games to threadbare
Pray mistral mildness pound and maim their story
'Til peaceful light surrounds regaining glory

Steven Trousdale Poem
"The future is an unimagined landscape." - Thomas S. Monson
I beg to stand still
The future whispered
"Progressive science
Situations change
Dare to dream bigger"
"But it scares me"
My confession
The future grinned
"One step forward
Two steps back"
Mocked by youth
Torn by age
"Be kind
I pray
Please"

Steven Trousdale Poem
Benign bliss burn
Latent as the spring bulb, cowering neath the snow
Yet ardent as the puppy plays, the growing inner glow
What is this wakening energy, where have these thoughts been hiding?
Internal fire, ferocious flame, your secret now confiding
I finally open my eyes
Perhaps for the very first time
There is a calmness buried here, that I had long forgotten
My lost long friend, I do depend, to you my door is open
The shout of silence stirs me, it’s echo kills the drama
I don’t resist, I still my lips, and to love’s flame surrender
The end of darkened duty
The untold whispered beauty
Interconnection, no distraction, let the suffering leave
I face my fear, hate engineered, the call of doubt relieved
My glowing grace, I amplify, illumine natural story
Hell’s chapter closed, His tome composed, in essence and of Glory
Languid love learn
Benign bliss burn

Steven Trousdale Poem
Between two worlds, there can be found
A place of beauty, few do seek
An intermittent middle ground
Where life is neither mild nor meek
We easily forget that Unity
Will always be the grandest place to be
It's compromise reflecting humble self
The modesty of love that strengthens health
That brings us to a place of gratitude
That signifies abundant inner wealth
And under threat, the Ego is subdued
The majesty of life between two powers
From edge to edge, we back and forth in Thought
From standing still, the Ego blindly cowers
Afraid of being outed in Selfs court
For as we know, Thought brings to us illusion
Which rarely ends in being our best solution
A lesson which the Ego still is learning
So battered torn and bruised from toss and turning
Why can't you see the damage you suffer?
Extreme to extreme always churning
Whilst Self so modestly does rediscover
The interchange that we can all embrace
Betwixt the outer echelons of life
The challenges of Thought we all must face
And through each one, our Self will surely strife
We will not fall for Ego's plastic ploys
The Shadow smiles and with that Truth destroys
The silhouettes the mind does cast revealed
The Truth of Unity no more concealed
The Ego now exposed does hide its tail
For shame and fear reformed and now repealed
Courage stands where ignorance will fail
The Truth is found within the Interchange
The pause of silence loudly now explained
Polarity, she bows as told her tale
The moral in plain sight, our hopes regained
Courage stands where ignorance did fail

Steven Trousdale Poem
An Ode to my Mouth
Sometimes you're better open, but usually you're closed
I breathe through you most often, at night you make me snore
You help me seal my love, how you tingle with sensation
You help me sing like angels, after devil days have darkened
I use you every second, but you never groan or grumble
Without you, gaining sustenance would be a real kafuffle
You open up your door, to allow my voice to enter
Whenever there's controversy, you're usually at the centre
But best of all, when all around are full of pomp and style
You break their barriers beautifully, your simple, gentle smile

Steven Trousdale Poem
An Ode to my Nose
Ah that sweet smell of freshly mown grass
I thank you for raising my senses
But laugh too hard, there's a risk of discharge
And to germs, you’re completely defenceless
You're short and stout, but far from a snout
You tempt and tease my tastebuds
Thank God you don't grow, like Pinocchio
You’d be big as the Ark in the great floods!
My love for you, it comes and goes
A rose reminds your importance though
