Benign Bliss Burn

Ever since day one
Our energies were in sync
Our frequencies resonated perfectly
The way we talked, the ideas we shared, and how we think

All the things we'd been through
The experiences we'd had
Mirrored each other seamlessly
Both the good, and the bad

I laid my head upon your chest
And could hear my own heartbeat
You needed to be nothing except yourself
To sweep me off my feet

We were echoes of one another
Given the same script to life, and meant to be each other's interlude
After all the pain and suffering we've had to go through
To be each other's, "something good"

But fate is as cruel as it is kind
As it put a twist in the tale
Giving us the potential to be so unbelievably great
But then causing us to fail

And maybe we could have been "it" you know
Our one chance at all the things we always wanted but never got
But to not even have the chance to put us to the test
I guess that's what truly hurts

All the what ifs and could haves
All the should haves and maybes
Or as I read somewhere some time ago
"If it was never meant to be, then letting go should be easy"

And now, all that echoes
Is the silence and space between us
Distance, where there should have been love
And fear, where there should have been trust

All the unspoken words fill the air
Things our hearts are dying to say
Questioning if we're making terrible mistakes
Unwilling to let the other go away

It deeply hurts to say goodbye
But I must, and wish you well
And hope someday, we'll meet again
But only time will tell

I'll put my pen down after this poem
For I have run out of blood with which to write
Maybe I'll pick it up again someday
Someday, when I'm alright

Goodbye, My Echo

FROM THE DIARY OF DESPAIR

Life gives me pancakes with no maple syrup
Bread with no jam
A story with no happy ending
A body with no arm

I feel like God mocks me
Created me just for fun
Cause why give me eyes if I can't see?
Why give me legs if I can't run?

You give me puzzles with incomplete pieces
Send me on quests with no end
You watch silently as I get broken
And go even quieter while I mend

I feel like God mocks me
Gave me a hammer with no nail
Cause you knew this would happen, didn't you?
You must have known that I would fail

Destined to run a race with no finish line
Destined to be a candle without a wick
Destined to watch my life fall apart
And all that I built, brick by brick

I feel like God mocks me
So I won't try anymore
Tired of living a life of near misses
A life of neither nor

Destined to chase shadows
Cursed to befriend pain
When the sun sets tomorrow
I'll write this poem, again

The Meaning of Nothing

An echo in the cave, a rustle in the leaves
I hear a whisper
A sound
A message
To be delivered with haste, to the soldiers at the battlefront
Lest they fall

But the message comes encrypted
Periods where there should be commas
Questions where there should be answers
Blank spaces where there should be information
Up is down
Left is right
Nothing is as should be, and the order of the day, is
Chaos
And I wonder how I am to deliver a message
Which even I, don't understand

More haste, less speed
I waited, and bode my time

The stars of the night sky, the colours of the rainbow
They, for a moment
For just a moment
Come together, to create a beautiful picture
A clearer picture
Breaking the laws of the nature to decrypt the message, and teach me the first lesson
"Anything is possible"

Amidst all the chaos
Tears shed, friends gone
Time passed
Blood bled, errors made
Love lost
In the eye of the storm, there's calm
The whispers get louder and louder
And I get the message

Courage, is not the absence of fear, but the presence of an action, in the face of fear
Honesty, is telling the truth, without waiting to be asked
Hope, is seeing no road to where you want to go, but seeing yourself at your destination
Loyalty, is building a boat, and going down with the ship
Trust, is knowing that you can get hurt, but believing that you won't
And
Love, is giving, without wanting back

I thanked the rainbow, the stars, the wind
And all that helped me in writing this message
After I wrote down all I was told
I sealed it
And sent it to the soldiers at the battlefront
"The Meaning of Nothing"
They won the war
