Ian D. Campbell Poem
Tether,
Untightened
with frugality
The message.
Pounce.
Patter.
Or none of the
Above.
Nontheless,
The war room
should receive
this visit.

Ian D. Campbell Poem
Endings,
Unwrap these
Crimsons.
Leaves falling
Soon and I am
Not the Catcher.
But you, you
Sports Fan,
Like the
Lover chases
His tail, now.
I do.
And I pray.

Ian D. Campbell Poem
In the back of bars,
Places my soul Shouldn't
Be.
But isn't this an
Altar, just like the
One you worship?
Differences and
Similarities are
One in the same.
Ignominy, and I
Smug your face
as you do mine.
Soon we'll waste
Away and forget
We even had this
Ridiculous Discourse.

Ian D. Campbell Poem
Electric shock.
And so were those
Winter days.
Hysterical, practical
And our supplements
To fight daily
Loneliness.
Mustard in her
Nails made shooting
in the Street far worse.
A cylindrical whirlwind
of your suitcase
as you're weight lifting
And I'm drinking and
So you are you and
We're passing out now.
I spilled my wine on
the bar. On purpose.
And I wished my father
Was there.

Ian D. Campbell Poem
In your spectacles,
Should I try them on.
I see more than I
Want, what I need
Is your labido.
Caressing my
Insides are you
Family Man.
And worshipping
Something unobtainable
Is my consolation prize.
Yet, I always end up
Taking last place.

Ian D. Campbell Poem
Undo this
And quickly.
Razors, the cut,
The Edge, bleeding
Endlessly.
I smiled because
Heaven took you
from me.
And I am not
far behind.

Ian D. Campbell Poem
I, in my excitement,
was waiting for
That bootstrap.
And with baseball on
Your mind, I tried
to seduce you with
Theater.
Secret dressing
Room call. Me, you
and the Priest.
I saw between
Your legs as the
Makeup faded and I
was never
Happier.
And now, matrimony,
a patriarch and
a stained Buddha
Statue I retreat to
The Garden.

Ian D. Campbell Poem
Its easier than
You thought.
Tacos in hand and
All. But I won't
Eat your flavor
as you are so
Ridiculous.
I took a taxi
And it was
Wondrous,
Traveling
and Undying
Like a zombie
without restraint.
I come undone.

Ian D. Campbell Poem
Strange,
But I've seen you
Everywhere lately.
Caramel colored
Girls, either you
or your daughter.
I'm not quite
Sure.
But I laugh inside.
The Challenger may
Have exploded, but
We didn't.
The cassette tapes
May have been lost.
But not the smiles,
the cupcakes,
the ruler,
and what was most important.

Ian D. Campbell Poem
Upright I sit now.
Your terms of
Endearment
Absent, but
I never
Expected them.
A drag race
Embezzles my own
Charity and its not
Surprising.
Splendid candor ?
Ubiquitous nonetheless
As I continue chasing cars.
