Sun Dazer Poem
Where the mountains touch the clouds and hummed a lullaby
Surrounded by trees covered in snow and dark foggy skies,
We arrived at our place and had a snowball fight.
We walked around town,
my converse drenched from the snow
We entered a gas station that I’ve never been before.
I felt so foreign, finally on my own
Being surrounded by friends,
we never wanted this night to end.
I looked outside and felt a tear stream down my eye
This is exactly what I wanted, a place that won’t leave my mind.
I went on a walk with my hot tea,
It was past twelve and there was no one in sight.
Grey hazy sky that caused the trees to slowly fade
I remember taking it all in, knowing that this won’t happen again.
Walking in silence as I sip my tea
There’s no better place than with the trees.

She loves to twirl and jump
expressing without a care
This is a girl that has big curly hair
her eyes filled with life, makes me want to hug her with all my might.
She can’t sit still, always has something to do
Using her imagination, how I wish I could look inside too.
She’s grown so much, i’m so proud
so happy she exists, she’s changed my life around.

I see why I was the one in silent mode
Who else understands the unseen? Why does it have to be me?
What qualities can I share?
Someone wants my expertise?!
I want to try, even look into the other side
just a peek...
Even Jung once said that we need to look inside our darkness
to understand the ones in need.

People look for an answer that has been underneath our nose,
What does it mean to live? Why do we have to acknowledge him?
Why is it wrong to be an image of his light?
The one that can move the stars and mountains.
We live in a world of chaos and one the other side, peace.
Which side will you choose?
The one that created you or the one that will destroy you?
We don’t exist in this world for the satisfaction of man but to
Ignite our souls to others, God please let me be an instrument of thy peace.
I might not be perfect but who else do I turn to when I feel the chaos caving inside of me?
We exist because an entity wanted us to exist.

Skimming through the pages of core memories
Burnt yellow walls adorned with Western art on Blake Road
Watching Merlin with my siblings
Climbing an abandoned tree house behind our land
Fishin' near a ditch with a family of snails
Hiding in the barn while journaling
Hearing coyotes in the night
Chasing the sun before the horizon
Having picnics in the Sandia Mountains
Harvesting our vegetables and fruit
Seeing Jocelyn was the highlight of my day
Vivi swerving in her Kia on Central as we listen to 1901 by Phoenix–
Let me sink into the pages and reminisce my childhood.
Time has stolen from me
Where is my pause?
Where’s the mother tree?
Where am I now?
Please, let me be part of a moment that punctured my heart
I could go on and on…
Maybe I am caged to what was once a rush.

A wall stands between
Being forced to not be near
Only a smell or
watching with my ears
How cruel of the wall,
let me stand tall.

give me what I asked!
It’s not my fault,
thats just how we act!

What did I do to deserve this?
I tried to play by the rules
It has only made me a fool.
It's the reason why I cry,
why I let out a sigh.
Trying to overcome
something that makes me numb.
Something is holding me back,
I want my laughter
and to keep myself on track.
It's the reason why I question life,
and you're nowhere in sight.
How do I take it easy?
What do I have to do?
All my life has been a loss,
and somehow,
It just keeps popping up.
I hate that it affects me,
I am chained to something,
something that won't let me speak.
I will go on with my day,
knowing that it won't be the same.
