Black Birds Flying At Walmart

Black Birds Flying at Wal-Mart
I see them gather, flock on flock,
At 7:30am sharp, they start to squawk and talk.
The sun peeks up, the horizon glows,
The air alive with cackles and crows.
Their feathers bristle, sharp and black,
They soar and dip, they dart fourth and back.
Their eyes, a yellow shining disc,
Reflect the light, a golden whisk.
The parking lot, their chosen stage,
They flutter, and fly in trees they engage.
Heads turn left and then to right,
When they fly the sky turns a speckled night.
They peck at crumbs, on scraps they dine,
Their steps in rhythm, a sequenced line.
Among the cars, they dance and sway,
When humans enter their territory they fly away.
From tree to light poles they take their flight,
Under the Walmart’s neon light.
Upward they rise to poles they glide,
On top of Walmart’s walls they nest and subside.
On the back of the wind, they wheel, and turn,
For insects, food, their hunger burns.
The Black Birds gather on shopping carts.
Masses of Black Birds flying at Wal-Mart.

Oblivion

Poem ‘Oblivion’
Drastic times calls forth bold demands,
Not quiet hearts or passive hands.
For change to rise, the roofs and roots must shake,
To build a new, immoral and unethical ways must break.
Sometimes it takes the patience to fall,
To raise up justice, loud and tall.
Opposition paves the path, it’s true,
For something better, bold, and new.
Wrongdoing for too long has been bought.
For so long, people of the past have fought
Acts of misconduct is in plain sight.
We must fight wickedness and injustice
With all our might.
Together we must unite and stand strong.
Before we go down the path of oblivion
From them doing wrong.

Content In All Things

I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. l have lean1ed the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

Content in all things prayer
I want to pray in sadness when my heart is in tears.
I want to pray in
Happiness when everything seems clear. I want 1ny humor along with
My laughter to overcome my sadness and sorrow when blackness
Surrounds. Wake to the morning light with a will for living, and a
Reason to place my feet upon the ground. I trust for the ones I loved
And lost that there is a better life after death. That we will be reunited
In a heavenly realm, and while I am on earth I hope to finish what is
Left. Requesting the Lord to be at my helm. I want to be spirit-filled
 
When physically empty. Giving myself a chance to bring comfort to my
Own reality. I want to have acceptance in my imperfection. I hope to
Take a stance to guide people with direction. I hope to be honest when
Everybody accepts deception. I hope I can make a promise to find self-
Esteem in my reflection. Blessed to find wisdom in being the hero and
The fool. Blessed to find freedom in knowing living is
More than just pursuing riches and jewels. Take the good with the bad,
Learn from each one, and add, to grow from each one.
In sun and rain,
Calm and storm, loss and gain, bliss and mourn, with and without,
Abundance and poverty, confidence and doubt, Insignificance
And in Sovereignty. Do my best to endure what life brings, and try to
Find balance. Look within myself to find God and

World that is not always content.

An Author To Their Work

An Author To Their Work

The author to their work.
Is like a man or woman to their family.
The pen and pencil is the son they guide to do right.
Guiding to write that first draft.
The keys to the computer is that spouse.
You spend quality time with.
Every punch to the fingers to computer keys.
Is a punch to create that storyline.
The late-night meals and sleepless nights
Is like caring for a daughter.
You miss sleep and but eat in the morning hours.
To fill in the beginning, in between, and end of your book.
Those words on paper is like giving birth.
Because you are putting a creation of literature together.
That comes from the bones, skin, heart, thoughts, and thinking of your mind.
Every formulated image in the story comes from the spirit within you.
The book is your family.
Because sometimes you spend more time creating a literary masterpiece story.
Then you do with your own actual family.
You eat, travel, drive, text, and talk with copies of your beloved book.

Borrowed Time

A FLOWER THAT BLOOMS

God sees your life as a flower
That sprouts, grows, blooms, wilts, withers, and dies in one Day.

And it is not so much the way the Lord sees how you were Rooted to the world

But,

How you attempted to bloom toward the sky.

Whether your stem was broken too soon by an icy storm, Wilted too early by a harsh sun
Or
Grew to be a beautiful flower with bright petals

Because each flower was born in different times, weather, and Seasons

And We
Are the product of our days

But each flower is still a flower With stamens and pistils
 
Trying to survive And
Love Together

Whether born in a cold canyon, a beautiful garden, sprouting from Concrete, or a lovely meadow

Standing alone or with many
As long as your stem stands tall and your petals Reach toward the Lord

You will always be the flower that blooms

Knowing God will give you the wings of opportunity.
Taking the climb.
Knowing God will hold your footing.
Taking the step.

Hire The Hood 1

Hire the Hood 1

I know you want to hire the hood.
To give them work, like you said you would.
To lift them up, and make life good,
To see success spread through the neighborhood.
But hire those with drive and skill,
With passion, purpose, and iron will.
People who can play their part,
With sharp minds and loyal hearts.
They must align with what you do,
Share the vision and see it through.
Because business needs more than love alone,
It takes talent, and smart moves to build your throne.

If you hire the hood, or not, get the best—do it right,
Choose the ones who bring the fight and the light.
Help each other grow, help each other thrive.
That’s how you keep the dream alive.
It’s always good to give people a chance
But, it takes the right people to make your job enhance.
The same time you’re giving people equality
Make sure your getting people who can put out good quality.
