Share the Same Moon

It is Christmas time my love, you are not here,
am feeling so lonely in this house without you near.

I can feel your pain my love though the distance is far,
but don’t you see if you look to the sky we see the same stars?

The kids have all moved, our friends are all gone,
nothing seems pretty but for the snow on the lawn.

Love I wish I were there to wipe away your tears,
sing you a song, hold you close, and comfort your fears.

It has been so many years now since you have passed,
feeling so lonely I’m not sure how long I can last.

Look above to the heavens, we share the same moon,
stay strong in our love we shall be together again soon.

The Words I Can Not Say

There are words I cannot say, forbidden by this world,
judges around every corner and whispers in the dark,
to speak the words unsaid a heart would be revealed,
an oh so complicated journey I’m sure I would embark.

There are words I cannot say, hidden deep inside,
to show my love for her beyond the shadow of a doubt,
the pain inside I feel whenever we’re apart,
loneliness, emptiness, all feelings I could live without.

There are words I cannot say, expressing my desire to be close to her,
to kiss her and hold her, stroking fingers through her hair,
to hold her hand or touch her face while gazing deep within her eyes,
all these things I’d love to do and tell her just how much I care.

There are words I cannot say, though the truth she must surely know,
if there was anything she would ever need and help I could supply,
to the ends of the earth I’d go, no rock to be left unturned,
when empty would be my search on earth to the stars I would fly.

There are words I cannot say, should she stay or should she ever go,
none that could ever truly express what lies within my heart,
she just needs to know that wherever she is and however time has passed,
my love shall always be with her; it’s been there from the start.

There are words I cannot say, hidden behind my eyes they will remain,
until the day when the spoken word becomes the object of her desire,
she will only need to look to me and ask with all her heart,
for her alone I’d shout it like angels in their choir.

Underneath the Miscletoe

Gone is the crowd, all the lights, and all the noise,
hands clasped, eyes met, all that remains are the joys.

Shaking now, lips quiver and hearts beat fast,
each hoping this moment always and forever last.

Does he love me, does she really care,
these are the thoughts they equally share.

Her hair so long and pretty, his body so strong,
they can’t remove their eyes, it won’t now be long.

Feet slide as they move, heads lean and lips begin to part,
a wondrous kiss they share, in their love this is just the start.

Miracles happen and very few who don’t know,
that love and life can begin underneath the mistletoe.

The Christmas Wish

My mommy left me one day and she can no longer play,
she has ran away to cancer, I know that’s where she’ll stay.

Of all the things I remember there is one I Know I'll miss,
that is going in her room that night for one last goodnight kiss.

My daddy looks at her picture, I always see him cry,
I know he can’t find her, but I am afraid he might try.

Mommy was always helping people, always did what she said was right,
if someone ever said they needed her she’d try with all her might.

Every night Mommy would sit with me, and from the bible she would read,
she would tell me of God and Jesus, and of every one of their good deeds.

There are many presents this year sitting under the tree,
I know from looking at them that they are all there for me.

I try and be like mommy now, remember what she said,
so I don’t want the presents, I want to wish instead.

I don’t know if I can make this wish, but I’ll try if I may,
God all I want is Daddy happy again, if even just a day.

Holiday Sorrow

A heart aches where love resides,
in the deepest recesses is where it hides.

While all others see and believe what he shows,
your own heart answers the beat and it knows.

His love can not escape through all the pain,
it is like trying to see in a night filled with rain.

During these holidays he often cries,
and seeing this a part of your soul dies.

Reach out to him in such a gentle way,
that you may be the sun on his gloomy day.

Looking into his deep blue eyes you will begin to see,
the love he holds for you that was always meant to be.

You tearfully realize no holiday shall ever again be like this,
as you two hold each other close and seal the future with a kiss.
