captain

Like a bloodstain she refuses to be cleaned off my memory
Nightmares are the only time I see her
Lost thoughts the only time I hear her
A siren in the city singing a song a longing
Pulling overboard the ship I thought I had made
I am no adonis I am no odysseus

To be in the legends of fables would be a blessing
To be forgotten only a blessing in another color
All is lost against the ever persistent tides
Oceanic dreams my only respite
Wishing to awake in a different world
Knowing it’ll never be as such

The Tunnel

Little does my mind rest
Wailing and scraping at the walls of my brain
The feeling of being lost forefront
Guiding lights leading me astray
To find the end an impossible outcome
Yet lying down to die not even a choice

Trying to break the patterns I’ve set
Failing to change who I am
Maybe I don’t need to change
Just find a way to accept myself
Though my mind may never rest again
I refuse to let the static kill me anymore

septmeber

Sometimes the air feels like concrete
Weighing my lungs down and filling my veins with stone
The world can move so slowly when this happens
Every moment an eternity to reflect
Inner thoughts become fogged over
And the hearts feeling impossible to decipher

Once a year I can breathe freely
The fall brings a dull environment that comforts the nerves
I don’t know why the breath of dying trees and rainy days blankets me
But there is no other sensation like it
Feeling my lungs drain the density of life

Freedom

There are things I know that you will never be sure about. My life was easy, you have gone through more than me but I understand the world just the same. Every path I take I take with uncertainty and conditional faith, every path I avoid I avoid with thought and assuredness.

Though I may never see the dreams I reach for, that does not make them any lesser than your own. The ego does not drive me but rather what feeds the ego, approval and proof that I am good enough.

I will always work on the road of life laying asphalt in front of me to follow and I am content. There’s no secret to it. See what you have, see what others don’t and make the choice to be happy with yourself.

“Fair” is a loaded word, “Fair” does not account for what people are unable to say, “Fair” does not apply to those deciding what it is. To live a “Fair” life is to not live at all.

“El Riesgo Siempre Vive” the risk always lives, A motto I live by. I firmly believe that if no one suffered life’s challenges it would make life too dull to accept.

There is no answer to why we are here, there is no meaning or purpose, so each and every one of us must decide to find a reason. What we as individuals choose to be worthy of living and dying for.

It is true that no one ever comes back after death. It is also true that those who lived to their potential will be remembered for all time. There is no point or evolutionary drive for us to be remembered but not a single person wishes to be forgotten.

The past is a sour treat, carrying on what so many believed to be important but leaving behind what the few LIVED for. There are things you know that I will never be sure about but understand that living is the most important thing anyone can do.
