what happened to my homework

“What happened to your homework?” 
	I will hear her say,
	There’s a million things, 
	I could talk all day, 
My dog tried to eat it, 
	It grew legs and ran away, 
	And while it was walking, 
	A mole came and took it, 
	Because it wasn’t day, 
My neighbor stole it, 
	A breeze swept by,
	Swish, swish, 
	I watched it fly!
I really am sorry, 
	But I won’t have it today, 
	Probably not tomorrow,
	I have to find it anyway.

Bahsing, banging, bleeding, 
	Watch the children run, 
	Away to tuck and hide, 
	War, danger, fleeting, 
A tribal meaning, 
	Tried and true, 
	Use your faith, 
	To guide you through, 
Plead, cry, pray, 
	Let God light the way,
	Jump feet first, 
	Into the smoldering and burning love, 
	That God feels for you,
Ringing, yelling, screaming, 
	Let the whole world know, 
	Don’t push the other way, 
	Or to war you’ll go,
	Just sit back, 
	Let God pull you in tow.

	Although there is fear,
	Please do not fret,
	God is near,
Curl up in your bed, 
	Say a little prayer, 
	Repeat it in your head, 
	God is near,
Will you keep your faith,

	Isn’t God always near?

The cardinal rule, 
	A gift of love, 
	A little red jewel, 
	Straight from God above, 
The eyes in the sky, 
	Flutter, flit, flap,
	Sweet beauty arise,

Red red, simple song,

	Little black eyes and little orange feet,
