Rust and Steel

Caught in the shadow of rust and steel.
I've forgotten my pain but can't seem to feel.
The ground is cold and swallows me whole.
The sun has gone away and taken my soul.
I look to the past and hunt for the light.
The wind rushes by and kills me with its bite.
The gray and sorrow are too much to take and the person I've become is too hard to fake.

Song of The Heart

The song of the heart is one that lazily floats down the river in the dusty light of the moon.
It rocks the mind and tames the soul.
This peaceful song brings timid trust and love through the hurry of the day and the calmness of the night.
It mends the pain and flows through the veins.
The song of the heart is one that is your own and shows you the path of unconditional love.

Manic Sleep

The world is asleep and yet I lie awake. Thoughts race through my mind. Trying to think good thoughts but they are so unkind. Worrying seems to put me in that place. It's a monster taking over my soul. I feel like I'm falling into a deep deep hole. Ride the wave till it's over. Melting down into a puddle. I try to sleep but all I do is toss, turn and fuddle.

I’m not Startin From The Beginnin’

The world is falling down beside me but it’s done it before so why am I so scared? I have to take meds cause all this is too hard to bare. My coping skills aren’t doing the trick. I have 100 but which one will I pick?

Chorus

I’m not startin from the beginning I’m startin from experience so everything will be fine.
Maybe this time everything will go in a perfectly straight line.
I don’t need a cookie to tell me I don’t have a fortune but the other one said I would find value in a kind word.
Sometimes I wish I could just fly away like a bird.

I wake up and my heart is beatin out my chest.
I take my meds and try to do my best.
I do my mornin routine and get ready for the day
But the question is, can I keep the thoughts at bay?

Am I going to remember to eat today and focus at work?
Sometimes I think people think I’m just a big dork.
Who cares what they think… (whisper but soon you start to believe it)

I’m not startin from the beginning… I’m not startin from the beginning…
