Hope

What a strange lie to utter to the broken, What a meaningless word thriving on the tongues of the happiest people,
They tell me to have hope,To believe and wait
Wait and deceive yourself that something will happen.
That something will change,
Be so adamant, eager and confident that you will be happy,
Be so imaginative that you forget reality, just waiting and hoping and praying to see that perfect day, The day that may not ever even come.
Hope.
They tell me to have hope.
They tell a broken soul to fix itself with glue.
They tell a broken heart to fix itself with the lie of a better place.
Hope.

Dream

Once upon a dream!
I lifted my head,
the cool summer breeze brushing past me, the tranquil sun gleaming above.
Tall, immense mountains reaching the sky, covered in grass rather than snow,
The sky lit up.
Beautiful, unique glamorous birds soaring high, dropping their white and fluffy feathers on the ground.
I stood up gracefully and turned around,
only to see glamorous trees swaying, welcoming me into its wonders.
As I walked along,
I noticed something peculiar about them, so I took closer and deeper insight into it.
As soon as I took a step closer a mythical creature swung past me.
It had glass-like, transparent crystal wings that fluttered elegantly, as well as a glistening dress flowing in the breeze.
I noticed thousands of them flying around me in multitudes, keeping me staring and gazing in awe.
I noticed something sparkling in the distance.
1 look up,
an exquisite, ice palace stands in front of me, surrounded by mesmerising icicles, and spectacular diamonds. wondrous.
The brightness caused my head to spin.
My eyes were overwhelmed and engulfed in the beauty.
I rubbed it vigorously.
I forced open my eyes, finding myself in my room, thinking it was an exceptional dream, Until...
I saw that same extraordinary creature flying out my window!

The journey

Clinging on determinedly
To the ferociously fast train
My palms burning in agony
Turning what I called home
A tiny speck in the distance
But 'home' is in ruins now
With bombs falling everywhere
Anywhere
Sirens wailing in my ears
Heartbreaking cries of newborn babies
Tear-jerking screams of loved ones
Being forced out of my home
The place I slept
The place I wept
The place I dreamed
The place I lived
The moonlight shines in the dark
Guiding my way
Yet I still question
Will I ever belong?
