Samantha Dexter Poem
I close my eyes.
Haunting the corners of my mind,
I feel them there,
waiting to strike.
My dreams lurk around the edges,
pulling me under,
Good night.

Samantha Dexter Poem
He stirs magic
in the air I breath.
A smile plays on his face,
and I stand there,
starstruck.
The light of his halo
renders me helpless
and I surrender to him.

Samantha Dexter Poem
My killer saunters forward,
grace marks his every move.
And I know I cannot win.
I stand there, unarmed,
while his dagger teeth flash and snap
in the icey blue moonlight.
He throws me a hunger-tainted smile
before making his kill.
I watch the life flow from me
red and hot
while he sits and drinks it in.
I am not afraid.
My hand twitches limply beside me,
a last request
to test the reality of this nightmare
to end my own life.
I wade through the pain
and locate my voice.
"Who are you?"
He stops, caught in the act,
and traces a frosty finger along the broken lines of my blood-smeared face.
Pauses at my lips.
I stop breathing.
"Good night."
And I am gone.

Samantha Dexter Poem
Goin under,
my grip slipping,
I fall
fall
into the bleak nothing
into the screaming silence
into my death?
My eyes open slowly
gasping for air,
I sigh in pathetic relief,
nightmare.

Samantha Dexter Poem
I stand alone
in the barren wastleland of my mind.
Colors twitch and flicker across a pale sky,
the only light in this dismal world.
And I cry for all that is lost.
